This program is for those wishing to have more facility in working with dreams in groups. Specific methods for inviting dreams into groups and exploring them will be covered. The value of dreams for understanding the psychodynamics of both the dreamer and the group will be emphasized.
Sample dreams provided by the instructors for participants to work with will make this program a living laboratory.
The “dream group” will also be introduced as a unique modality suitable for general and target populations. The format, processes, and goals of the therapy group and the dream group will be compared and contrasted. The instructors, specialists in dream work, will talk about their experience as both leaders and members of therapy and dream groups.
The goal of this program is to show how the range and depth of professional services can be expanded by including dreams in any type of group process. Participants are welcome to bring in dream material for discussion.
Those attending will learn about:
• inviting dreams into any group setting
• unpacking dreams in innovative ways
• linking dream content to indiv. & group issues
• reasons groups resist engaging with dreams
• using dream groups for target populations
• making use of your own dreams about the group
