Passages: The Art of Life’s Transitions

with Gail Sheehy, journalist, lecturer and bestselling author

Change is a constant in our lives. How do we make positive passages? What is your attitude toward the changes that our lives demand? How do we bring serenity into our lives and how do we learn to accept the tough challenges that lay ahead?

Gail Sheehy, renowned for her internationally known Passages series, will guide us with wit and wisdom through these central life issues. We will begin with a personal inventory as to where we are in our lives. Topics will include giving and receiving, adjusting our attitude, seeking serenity and setting new sights for our lives.

Ancient Myths And Eternal Mysteries: Love And Death, Healing And Transformation

with Dr. Christine Downing, author and Professor of Mythological Studies at Pacifica Graduate Institute.

We’ll explore the relevance to our own lives of four powerful myths from the ancient world, those focusing on Ariadne as mistress of the labyrinth, on Asklepios who conveyed the healing power inherent in dreams, on Demeter and Persephone whose rituals eased the fear of death, and Orpheus and Eurydice whose story so beautifully illuminates the mysterious dance between death and love.

Special offering of lectures on the Black Madonna and the Medieval mysteries of Chartres by Kayleen Asbo.

Veriditas has been offering pilgrimage programs in Chartres, France for over 15 years.
