THEN .....REFLECTIONS FROM UNDERNEATH  A HOT, DRY AND BARREN JOSHUA TREE

I GREW UP IN THE LATE 60'S.  I  DON'T ONLY MEAN  DEVELOPMENTALLY. I MEAN I GREW UP TO THE WAYS OF THE WORLD, TO THE CULTURE , TO THE  FAMILY,  WITHIN OUR COUNTRY AND THROUGHOUT THE GLOBE. THERE WERE PROMISES THEN. AND CHANGING VALUES, MORES, TASTES, CULTURAL HABITS.THERE WAS HOPE, AND HOPES THAT DIED AND/OR  THAT WERE DASHED.

YET AND STILL SEEDS WERE PLANTED  THEN, THAT BECAUSE OF OUR COLLECTIVE NEGLECT, OVER SO MANY DECADES  APPEARED TO HAVE DIED AND WOULD  LIKELY NOT EVER FLOWER, AGAIN..

LAST WEEKEND IN JOSHUA TREE, I FOUND THOSE SEEDS AGAIN, SAW AND HEARD, THROUGH BRILLIANT TALKS, THE  REEMERGENCE  OF WHAT CAN ONLY BE THE ACTUALIZED REMEMBRANCE OF WHAT WAS PROMISED THEN.

IN MY EDGY SARCASM I REFERRED TO THE IMPACT OF JOSHUA TREE AS QUANTUM  WOODSTOCK. A TERM THAT  WAS MY WAY  OF LINKING THE THEN WITH THE NOW. ODD AS IT SEEMS, THE POSSIBILITY THAT ARISES WITH THE  LINKING OF THESE TWO TERMS TOGETHER  GIVES ME HOPE.

I WAS GIVEN HOPE IN JOSHUA TREE THAT ALL MAY  NOT YET BE LOST. THE PLANET MAY YET BE SAVED. PLANTS AND ANIMALS MUST LIVE.  THERE WILL BE MORE WATER  THAN JUST THAT  FALLING FROM OUR TEARS. MIRACLES CAN LIVE WITHIN AND EMERGE FROM  CROP CIRCLES.

AND YES,THERE ARE STILL QUANTUM FLOWER CHILDREN ALIVE AND WELL THROUGHOUT OUR UNIVERSE. MAGIC CAN, DOES AND WILL HAPPEN .

  • Thank you for this, Judie and for you!

Yours are deep insights and having shared some magical moments of this extraordinary and rich weekend of synchronicity with you, I feel gratitude for it all. There is so much to digest and assimilate and yes; a new path has opened for those of us who have awaited these crossroads all of our lives. Quantum Woodstock in the desert with a new generation who carry what we learned on their journey of discovery in their cells and so much more. The future is certainly beginning to seem more hopeful!

  • Judie: I love the term "Quantum Woodstock"! What a creative and resonant way to refer to the remarkable spirit I, too, felt at Joshua Tree during the symposium. "Magic can, does, and will happen."—Yes, and it was to good to remember this deep felt belief that lives in my bones. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
