Archetypal Astrology blog and writings

Hi, I am an new member of this group and an astrologer who lives in Olympia, Washington in the USA.  I have a blog I am using to work on my astrology writing entitled "Esoteric Embers," which is also the name I use for my Astrology Practice.  You can read my most recent article about this Pisces time and the myth of Persephone, here:

http://esotericembers.wordpress.com/2013/02/27/an-angel-watches-over-an-argument-between-ceres-and-mercury/

I have previously posted a link to this on the Depth Psychology Alliance with an excerpt from the article, but most people seem to have only noticed the excerpt and not the actual blog, so I thought I would share the link here.

Some of my major influences include Rosie Finn, Demetra George, Richard Tarnas, Alan Oken, Erin Sullivan, and Jeffrey Wolf Green.  I also have an interest in Carl Jung and other Depth Psychologists and hope to synthesize understanding in my work.  I am also a teacher and advisor who works with youth who often have been labeled "at-risk" due to cultural, ethnic, or economic backgrounds.

I look forward to contributing to and learning from this community of archteypal work-

Gray

  • Than you for starting this discussion. I'm an archetypal astrologer and yoga teacher currently experiencing Saturn and Pluto's Mutual Reception dance as it forms a Yod to my Gemini Asc degree. As my mother-in-law and friend of 35 years, who lived with us since 2003, passed away last December, my puella persona has been thinking more about mortality. My husband (also Gemini Rising) and I are considering relocating outside Florida. As our caretaker phase ends, at least one new direction will no doubt open with Jupiter moving through Gemini.

Wondering how others are experiencing the Saturn/Pluto Dance.

    • Hello Kathleen,

Thank you for sharing your experiences.  I am also Gemini rising, but 20-21 degrees, so Jupiter has been in my 12th house for awhile (and near my natal moon and south node of the moon which are conjunct in Gemini in my 12th).  I would think that Jupiter crossing over your ascendant would go along with a big shift like you are indicating- I am thinking the same could happen for me when Jupiter finally gets there.  It is also hard for me, like Lorna, to separate out the Saturn-Pluto sextile because so much is going on in my chart. That particular yod is actually setting off a yod in my natal chart (Aquarius Mars in 9th sextile Sagitarius Neptune in 6th both inconjunct Cancer Saturn in 1st) and Pluto is actually opposite my Saturn at the trigger point of the yod right now.  I also have Ceres in Aries opposite my Libra Pluto in a t-square with my Saturn- so as I have pluto square pluto for awhile, now pluto opposite saturn, i have uranus coming in to conjunct my Ceres and be opposite my pluto and square my Saturn! Plus Ceres is on my ascendant. And then don't even get me started about all the pisces- but for one i have Neptune on my MC and my Mercury right now, in trine with my Scorpio Uranus, and Scorpio Saturn is also trine to my Cancer Saturn... theres just so much more so I can't really say...

I can say I have become more active writing about astrology and processing information I am picking up in that way. I have had deep work going on in personal relationships and a lot of deep issues of my Self to face and own up to.  I do feel like things are going well for me considering how intense all of the transits I have going on . . . some very difficult events and situations happening but I am handling everything much better than I ever have before.

      Blessings,

      Gray

      Enjoyed your blog.

Oh! Triggering a Natal Yod for you, and Tr Pluto is the trigger planet--whew.

Yes, too many outer planetary transits to separate/analyze any one aspect group, such as the Saturn-Pluto sextile impact.

With Pisces Moon, I smiled at your "don't even get me started on Pisces!"  Have felt CH-Neptune pull into the Unconscious for several months. Yes, writing is a wonderful outlet, as was Melanie Reinhart's artistic slide show at UAC.  It started things moving creatively.

I, too, feel renewed inner strength to move forward  through difficult situations. Perhaps because there's a new perspective: things that used to seem very serious to me no longer seem  a "matter of life and death."

My husband's Gemini Ascendant is close to the cusp of Cancer, so, like you, his Jupiter opportunities will come along later in the year. He had a long career in IT, and is now into cooking.

Maybe we'll all get together online in 2014 and see what changes have come, as we emerged from this?

    • Hello Kathleen. The astrology is so complex that it's hard to discern different strands in my life.I'm certainly experiencing a huge physical clearing with Saturn and Pluto (acupuncture and Reiki) which is returning energy to my depleted lungs and heart and with Jupiter as the focaliser of the Finger of God,a bigger framework of deep learning and connection. This Pisces stellium and New Moon is conjunct my natal North Node bringing in Neptune and Pluto so I'm channelling it through more writing about spiritual patterns.

    • Jupiter is an important aide to healing, so glad you have it where you do!

  • Hello Gray,

Thanks for posting.I too am a psychological astrologer and psychotherapist working with depth psychology and Jungian archetypes.Have a look at my Hare in the Moon Astrology daily posts on Facebook.I like your website very much and hope to connect with you-perhaps via Facebook?

    Lorna

    • Hi Lorna, thanks for your compliment- I also like your website, and love the title too!  I happen to be year of the Rabbit in chinese astrology and have always loved the mythic connection with hares and the moon.  I will have to investigate your writing in more depth later, but from taking a look at it, I can see that I understand your astrological perception and very much enjoy what you have to offer.

      Blessings,

      Gray
