  • OK..I'll start over..Just lost my thread. I've been musing of late  with Lilane and Lucille , about the importance  of sun sign astrology  verses archetypal astrology. Out of those discussions has risen for me a great interest in paying more attention to the archetype behind and within the sun sign. In other words, as a Scorpio I guess I'm drawn to the  depth mythical back ground upon which the sun sign draws sustenance so to speak.   That interest of course has to lead one to a study of mythical story and how those stories interplay behind,   and within one's articulation of a sign.  Clinically it would be , I imagine, extraordinarliy helpful when working with patients who are both able to be viewed psychologically and astrologically. Questions such as  what prominent/gods/archetypal themes are behind and within the horoscope and how do these dynamics factor into treatment and  daily life? Why is it that a Hades/Pluto  astrological dynamic become active in the life of a killer, and that same dynamic drives someone to exist within the chronicity of obsessive love. I've simplified it no end to make a point....But I'm  obviously gripped by this notion and wanted to pass it along..Hope to have many more dialogues such as this one with you and others. Meanwhile, imagining myself of late as a carrier of  the behaviours and interpersonal dynamics one finds in Hade's world has indeed been fascinating...Regards to all...Judie
    • Look for aspects from Natal Venus to Hades/Pluto for obsessive love. Also, for timing pruposes (aka synchronicity,) observe Pluto transits to Natal Venus/Pluto  and/or to Natal Moon or Venus -in- Scorpio. Pluto sometimes transits five or six times by retrograde motiion over South Node/Venus, coinciding with long -lasting obsessions during which a client may seem certain the other person is a past life love; their "meeting again this time is fate' (Pluto;) and "any day now the other person will wake up and realize I'm right; that he/she has simply been stubborn about accepting it."

Pluto/Mars aspects, particulary the Natal square, indicate a tendency to act out (Mars) violently.. Fortunately not everyone with the square is homicidal. Some channel their frustrations into the martial arts, sports, or hostile takeovers of others's companies ( check the business houses, 2, 6, 10.) This square is about personal power.

  • Judith,

Thanks for your note. I'm a clinical depth psychologist in private practice, Albuquerque NM for the past thirty years, treating adults who are in emotional/spiritual crisis. I'm looking forward to furthering my understanding of archetypal astrological symbolism and to checking on and contributing to the discussion as time goes on and time permits. I'm looking forward to our ongoing conversations!
