Michael's Dream

Michael,

I heard your dream on the taped version and wanted to share my thought.

It reminded me of the somewhat recent movie "The Life of Pi."

The premise being that a young man is stuck in the middle of the ocean with a dangerous tiger and they learn to be together and befriend each other. Symbolically it feels like something we all must deal with at some point in our life (hopefully) which is surviving the terrifying aspects of shadow side.

Just a thought!

  • Hi Angela,

Thanks for your insightful comment and thoughtfullness.  I need to see that film!  I am so humbled by this dream because there are so many layers to it. It relates to what's up for in my life now as well as my childhood and fears about our ailing Mother earth.  It was nice to share it with the class.  I hope your enjoying this course.  Cheers.

  • Hi Angela,

Yes, I understand the sense of wrestling with a tiger, internally, the intensity of it, the life and death quality, and it can be terrifying, especially the first several times around. But somewhere along the line, I learned that this was something each of us had to do in order to befriend ourselves, each other and life itself. That's why I think the Inanna myth served me so well. It gave me a road map of sorts to follow as I descended inward. Those were some hard years!
