Thank you to Robert, Brian and Bonnie

Thank you for taking the time to develop this webinar and offer it up and out to the world! What a pleasure to have participated on the blog and in person. The only frustration  I had was not being able to sit in a room, in circle, with all of you and let the natural flow of a conversation animate the dialogue, tapping in to the energy that is only present under those circumstances. One hour seemed like a teaser and I was left with wanting more!

Robert, I wanted to ask you so many more questions about the Antarctic landscape, the sounds, the night sky, the immensity of space, the shadows and the colors

within the color white. But you gave us the gift of the documentary and I will go back to it time and again and find questions to ask myself. And thank you so much for recommending the movie "Being There" and of course, your words that inspire me..."What does it mean to any of us to no longer get lost?"..."living the question"...."snowing inside us"..."Pay attention to the sorrow left behind. It might be our way back to use technology with a conscious".

And Brian, your poetry of Blackbirds and Morning Rain and Midnight Tea, and your reflections..."We are the universe of one - that one jewel that reflects each jewel"..."the dream is another country with its own language"..."we need to learn the grammar of the soul".

And Bonnie, your organizational vision of putting it all together and facilitating with such respect for all who participated. Thank you!

You all have left me with much to ponder in my inner and outer landscape, to dig into a deep ecology, to roam the country of Eidolon. I have dug out books to re-inspire me...David Abrams, John O'Donahue, Jean Shinoda Bolen. And oh, the poets...Rilke, Wallace Stevens, Mary Oliver, Naomi Shihab Nye, and Brian Tracy!

And now...I am going for a walk in the stark beauty of the landscape of eastern Montana where I will find my inner landscape to get lost in.

With much gratitude...Karen Aspevig Stevenson

  • Dear Karen,

It was a pleasure to do this webinar with BB and BT and folk such as yourself.  And I agree that being together in person would have facilitated a more complete dialogue. The web format has many virtues but also shadows. I tried to describe all this in an earlier webinar BB, BT and I idid in a small essay caleed Terminal Talk!!

It is being published by Bonnie

    My best wishes

    Robert

    • Dear Karen, Bonnie, Robert and Brian,

Karen, thank you, you have spoken so eloquently of my experiences too, I appreciate your courage as you enriched the webinars.

This series has been critical for me to revivify my life that had become congested through neglect of the sensitivity you have presented.

Along with the wonder there are somatic experiences that create subtle psychological shifts. In response in"sipping the midnight tea"

      Dante's reply

Welcome to the world below the world

where dreams ferment and brew a potion of wellbeing

let the struggles enter here and be dissolved in the elixir of life

      the alchemy proves the problem

and weaves it into the realm of awareness and vibrancy

no longer lurking in the shadows

      open honest.

Bonnie, your gift in facilitating these events and your insightful contribution is greatly appreciated.

Robert, your book "Leaning toward  the Poet" and the DVD on Antarctica are the most recent inspirations from you that I treasure and have deep resonance with.

Brian, your poetry is rich and inspiring, and this week I begin my mornings with listening to "midnight tea"

I am filled with wonder again as I will leave to lie in the ocean at Rapaki bay which is surrounded by the volcanic hill of Banks Peninsula. It is summer here and in this place my experience is of being held by the natural world.

      With warmth and gratitude

  • Dear Karen. Thank you for taking he time to check in and articulate some of the things that moved you. I suspect if we asked the group, everyone would give a different answer as to exactly what struck them most--and yet aren't we all one unit--so what strikes you also lands on me somewhere. I personally really appreciate your participation and willingness to engage. Thank YOU!
