Every journey begins with..... Glad to hear you took that first step. Psyche is always on the side of health and wholeness. Good energy sending your way.
Sara,
I thought losing your mind was a prerequisite for entering graduate school!!! :)
I'm only partially kidding (Hermes). There are many who wrote books, give workshops, etc. and they are all of some worth but, being interested in depth psychology, keep using your intuitive, reflective powers as you go hunting. You mentiomned not getting into Pacifica "at this point in time." Is that code for $$$$$$$ ??
Hey all,
Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone in the group and say that it's great to find a group of fellow Southern Jung lovers.
I'm currently getting ready to start my last semester of undergraduate study at a small college called Pikeville College in Eastern Kentucky. I actually started out majoring in Psychology 5 years ago and allowed myself to be talked out of it by my family since, to quote them, I'd "be in school for the rest of my life and never make any money at it". I ended up changing majors about 4 or 5 times, took some time off from school and ended up back at majoring in Psychology. It wasn't until last fall when I changed back to Psychology that I got interested in Jung and Depth Psychology. The psychology department there is small, but wonderful. My advisor is actually a former student of James Hillman, which I find really cool.
I'm currently trying to find a graduate school where I can study depth psychology. Pacifica would be the ultimate for me but, unfortunately, I don't think I'd have a shot of getting in at this moment in time. I'm planning on applying to the University of West Georgia because they have a Master's program that's grounded in humanistic and transpersonal psychology and really give you the chance to design your own program of study based on your interest. For all of you with Master's and PhD.'s, do you have any advice for me on how to get through the grad school application process without completely losing my mind?
