Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
My daily work involves human beings navigating an incredibly complex world. This realization is what led me to establish my practice, Poppy Perspectives. My journey into Depth Psychology represents a natural and vital evolution of my work. In my practice, I weave together structured modalities like DBT, CBT, and REBT with psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-focused approaches. As we face unprecedented modern challenges ranging from from persistent burnout to digital wellness and socio-political dysphoria, I believe that surface-level interventions are no longer sufficient. Depth Psychology offers the framework needed to look beneath collective anxieties and examine the foundational thought patterns that drive them. This commitment to exploring the underlying human experience is rooted in my lifelong study of Jung, myth, and world symbols and religions. My formal interest began as a middle schooler over 45 years ago and consolidated as an undergraduate German Major who also studied in Salzburg and Vienna, providing a rich academic foundation for this work. My practice manifests as a seamless integration of the clinical and the symbolic. I work weekly with a group of spiritualists and Reiki practitioners, while also holding space for clients who bring their dreams and tarot practices into our therapeutic container. They find me. I don’t advertise that I am open to this. I strive to provide a space where the rigorous and the intuitive coexist. I believe my life purpose is to empower individuals to discover their own authentic paths to growth and when words don’t suffice symbols are integral part of that journey. I am eager to collaborate with minds who appreciate the complexity of the human experience and who want to dive deeper into how psychodynamic and depth principles can be practically applied to healing. As Jung said, "The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are" and I am committed to helping people on this journey. I am looking forward to connecting, sharing insights, and collaborating with you all.
