Hi Dorothy,
Great to hear from you. We are warming up and getting ready for Dreamverse. The first phase is to build the community and an initial structure to harvest dreams. We created a first draft to use while the site is under construction (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dreamverse/116492245156467?sk=app_12...
and we are inviting expressions of interest and to be connected
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dreamverse/116492245156467?sk=app_10...
WOULD YOU LIKE TO ORGANISE A DREAM-HARVESTERS GROUP?
Post what You are interested in on Dreamverse in Facebook (or tell us and we will post the DREAMGROUP with your name next to it in the post) and invite people to like your post!
DREAM GROUPS
Any topic that you are passionate about could be interesting to identify other who have the same interest and are willing to share dreams. For example, people that are interested in the Occupy movement may share dreams, or in health, sustainability, or something else,...
WHICH DREAMS
The dreams DO NOT need to be specifically about the topic. Dreams are symbolic and rarely direct. So any big-dreams of people passionate about something are more likely to have a relationship to that topic of interest, differentiated from their own personal psychology. One objective of Dreamverse is to discover how our ideas and feelings are shared.
HARVESTING
WHAT MATTERS most is that you know or try to know what is your own passion about. That will improve the chances of creating meaningful dream groupings from harvested dreams and try to connect to detect patterns.
WHY THE DREAMS OF THE 2001-2012 PERIOD
REMEMBER that You can harvest new dreams as they occur, but we are going to interview people around us, and dig into our own dream diaries, to harvest dreams for the first decade of the 21st century. CHANCES ARE that looking back and having the data on hand will make it more likely to be able to detect patterns. If we are looking at very current dreams there is always a great delay and uncertainty about what they mean and where they are going.
Looking forward to discussing with you, may be we can start a group here too, sharing ideas on how, why, etc (Dreamverse is focused on doing it, but not as a discussion forum for depth psych professionals as takes place here)
Kind regards
Veronica
Hi Dorothy. Welcome to the Alliance. It's wonderful to have another novelist in our midst. I know of a few already.
On that note, I think as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers like yourself, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.
Meanwhile, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.
Also, if you have time, you may want to consider joining the online book club—There's a new author each month, and you can jump in at anytime and participate at whatever level you wish. The Book Club is all done via writing in an open forum, so you can read all the comments that have gone on so far. In June we are featuring an anthology with an ecopsychological bent: "ReBearths: Conversations with a World Ensouled" with Dr. Craig Chalquist.
In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link-- http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site--and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community. ~Bonnie Bright, Founder
