"Thanks for your emaikl. The phrase, "all thnigs not physical" suggest that it refers to the non-material. Is thata what you meant? I am not party to the recent (20-30 years) trend in psychiatry that pushes chemistry. The origin of the word "psche"…"

  • I would truly enjoy hearing about what psychiatry was like before the current chemistry obsession took over. I have been a chaplain in psychiatric hospitals before starting my education in depth psychology and I kept wondering where all of Jung's work wentover the years, or whether it ever really got a foothold in the States. What has been your experience?
  • Welcome Heney (Edward?),

Recently there have been a few psychiatrists who have come to the Alliance. This intrigues me in that I did my field work in psychiatric hospitals my first year at Pacifica largely due to Jung's beginnings there (much different today). It might be interesting to gather the psychiatrists in the Alliance into a group for a discussion about the interface of psychiatry and "all things not physical." Frankly, words are becoming a problem as I dig deeper into these concepts so "all things not physica;" will have to do for the morning. Again, welcome and I hope you will find much of interest to you.

  • Hello Henry! Welcome to the online Depth community. At the risk of drawing attention to what is in the margins....are you 85? If so, you are in an incredible space of transition between ages. Everything is moving so fast, yet some of the core tenets that speak to soul and being all still ring so true. I hope you enjoy the Alliance, regardless of your age, and that you will take the time to comment and share your work and your opinions.  Best, Bonnie Bright, Founder.
