Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?

I am a 38-year-old male with a wife and two children. I played in a punk rock band in the 90's and 10's and was a pastor for 17 years. I became Eastern Orthodox three years ago and left the ministry. I had always enjoyed the counseling aspect of my previous job, so I decided to become a counselor and began an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. I worked as a chemical dependency counselor at a residential treatment facility for a year and now work in the MICA (co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse program) at an outpatient community mental health clinic. I started reading Jung after being introduced to his work by a friend who received a Ph.D. from Pacifica in CA. Depth Psychology interests me because I have always been intrigued by the interconnection of reality and how we encounter it through dreams, myths, and archetypes etc.

Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?

North American Adlerian Psychology Association.
