  • Katherine, love the mermaid! Part human, part divine, she swims in the depths. Perfect.

I look forward to reading your insights and exchanging ideas with you further on this forum. I, too, am very interested in the Divine Feminine and I think you will find many of us here who do. Some of my favorite books/writings on this topic come from Marion Woodman, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, and Monica Wikman and Jean Raffa. I am noticing the increase in clients' dreams that evoke this energy/archetype.

I will be curious as to your comments here as you are weaving depth psychology ideas, work with Soul, into your life and practice after coming from a traditional therapeutic orientation/study/practice. I went to Pacifica Graduate Institute, so have depth psychology steeped in my very marrow and have always worked at incorporating tools and concepts in my practice, even when I worked within a government agency for 9 years. Not always easy, but important work.

  • Greetings Katherine and welcome to the online depth psychology community. It's great you've found us!

As you may know, we currently have over 2900 members from all over the world. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

We recommend that to get started, you personalize your profile photo by going to your "My page" and rolling your cursor over the default C.G. Jung image. That will give you the option to switch it out. As well, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to another member's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.

There are a number of activities at the alliance such as the replay of "Mythic Activism" with Dr. Craig Chalquist or the New Audio Interview: Ariane Page for the September Book Club on Revelations from Brain Research & Systems Science in the Search for Happiness. You can also weigh in on the weekly depth discussions by clicking the image and quote at the top of the home page.

In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link---- http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site----and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community....Donna May, Board Member
