  • Hi Mike, Welcome to "Encountering the Numinous." Perhaps you noticed that I am defining numinous more broadly than mountaintop experiences. Like you, I believe in living a self-reflective life, and I am committed to observing the connections (or lack of them) between my thoughts and words and actions. By devoting myself to this brand of integrity in my life, I am blessed with many divine moments, moments of feeling completely in synch with the natural world, irrespective of what may be going on in my job, or society. My hope in starting this group was to begin to shed light on those moments--moments that we all have--that enrich the quality of existence. I hope you'll share your own views about numinosity.

  • Hi Mike. I'd like to add my personal welcome to Ed's. I'm glad you've found the online Depth community and hope you'll jump in and engage right away by joining a discussion, commenting on others' posts, sharing links or articles that are meaningful to you, or posting some of your own work if you haven't already.
I'm sure you'll make some wonderful connections here as well as much to read and ponder. I'll send you some tips on navigating the site in a separate email. Enjoy the site! ~Bonnie Bright, Founder

  • Welcome Mike,

The unexamined life is definitely NOT where the Alliance derives its identity. Welcome. In that you have a wide range of interets, I think you will find much of interest in the many blogs, forums, and groups. I look forward to your posts.
