What are your main areas of interest?
Jungian Psychology
If you are signing up as an Individual Member, do you have a degree in Depth Psychology?
No
If so, from what institution?
I am a designer formed in a school with multidisciplinary studies. I have always been leaning towards psychology but not as such; since I remember, I have always observed people and were amazed at the interaction as well as my own life at home. When I discovered Jung I almost cried (where had I been?) about 10 years ago. I guess he put words to my sense of things. I come from a catholic family with no problems in the religious realm so it only reaffirmed some convictions but has taught me a lot besides making me reflect and understand. I have ways to go but it is a good beginning.
Are you a licensed or clinical therapist?
no
Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
Other perspectives within. I have no one to talk to about this and in general people are not interested as I am. I am interested in healing myself and understand who I am but unfortunately I can't always afford a therapist and the 2 I tried were not for me. This site may give me perspective on how to find him/her when I can look again.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
no
What is your WEB SITE (IF you would like to promote it)?

Thanks Monica and excited for you and the new energy you have around joining this group and depth psychology. I glanced at your design site and was quite taken by the depth and soul of the work you do there. I can not say for sure any reason why you would be seeing more quotations from Thoreau than Emerson. Both contributed so much to an independent and I would say depth-oriented perspective for Americans. I am re-reading Thoreau's "Walden" this summer and really appreciating it.
Entering this terrain slowly if that is your instinct sounds great. Let me know if I can help in any way. Look forward to seeing you around.
Best Regards!

Greetings Monica and welcome to the online depth psychology community. It's great you've found us!
As you may know, we currently have over 3300 members from all over the world. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.
We recommend that to get started, you personalize your profile photo by going to your "My page" and rolling your cursor over the default C.G. Jung image. This gives you the option to switch it to a person picture. As well, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to another member's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like. There are many of us, including myself, who share your interests; I am also very interested in dreams and am curious to see what you might post here on this topic.
Here are a few quick links to front page items that may be of interest to you. The Multimedia Library contains talks, videos and articles that may be of interest to you. The Depth Insights e-zine has articles, poetry, and images from past issues. And, then we have the Events page which contains calls for papers, upcoming conferences, and workshops.
You can also weigh in on the weekly depth discussions by clicking the image and quote at the top of the home page. And here's a link to help you navigate the site for your convenience.
Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you around the community.
Warm Regards,
