Psychoanalysis and the as-of-yet unrealized power of the brain. These fields seem relatively undefined and 'fringe,' so as we establish an interest and a foundation beyond the accepted parameters of science we can expand the boundaries of TRUTH.

Hi Peter. Apologies for my tardy welcome, but I'm glad you've discovered the Aliance. Your interest in the "unrealized power of the brain" is mutual, and I'm sure many of us here agree.
Meanwhile, I hope you'll find much to engage with as you browse the vast content and interact with others I encourage you to jump in right away and get your feet wet by simply sharing a link or article that has meaning for you or perhaps by commenting on others' posts, asking a question, or sharing some of your own thoughts or work.

Fascinating article but I'll need to reread after another cup of coffee.
I'm beginning to strongly believe that we all work out of our lived reality, our lived truth. Even hard science relies on pre-existing theory, research technology, and a choosing of one focus over another. Our lived truth may have nothing in common with objective reality but will affect our lives as surely as gravity keeps us on the ground. The freeing aspect of this is that our currently lived experiences always allow for some, even if slight, alteration or alternative reading of past experiences thereby altering our current lived reality, lived truth. For me, this lays out a path of hope. In my therapy, the first challenge was to allow for consideration of the past without allowing consummation from the past.
Good to hear from you again. Keep well.
Ed
Welcome Peter,
Glad you found and decided to join the Alliance. I have been waiting for the interest in a Jung/brain discussion to begin in earnest. Neurological findings have been fascinating and furiously coming each day. If depth psychology is to not fall further into the shadows (no pun intended) it must engage this area of information about the human condition.
I'm especially interested in your emphasis on the word TRUTH, in that I've had an interesting discussion recently about that term and its definition.
Again, welcome.
Ed
