  • Glad to hear you are not a Jungian fundamentalist. :)  I also find depth theory able to span the material-meaning gap. I also like Kristeva along with Lacan. I struggle with the existential-phenomenological perspective although I like the emphasis upon the freedom of the will. Of course, it is the degree of assumed freedom that trips me up. For me the phenomenological is the core with various other modalities of perception influencing the core experience of the phenomenon. Where do you stand when it comes to conversations about free will?

    Often those who find Jungian/archetypal work a calling, and who do not desire to become an analyst, find themselves in a lonely place. Glad you found and joined the Alliance. As a clinical psychologist, do you find the Jungian/archetypal perspective on the psyche informative in your work or are you more focused on personal growth, or both?
