Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
I'm drawn to this community to explore ways I can bring depth psychology to young people in our community. I work with adolescents and young adults as a therapist and mentor. I'm particularly passionate about helping young people who are at that transitional threshold between youth and adulthood. I think this is such a rich and important time in our lives where mentorship and mental health support can help us navigate and grow into our most fulfilled adult selves. While I draw from many therapeutic approaches including evidence based practices, I'm currently doing a doctoral research study on the use of depth work for young people at this time. I'm curious about learning more about ways people are using depth work with youth. When appropriate, and used in combination with an integrative approach, I find interweaving the creative arts, somatic work, poetry, and spirituality or myth can be helpful tools in the young adult individuation process of self-discovery.

Hi Stephanie. Welcome to the Alliance. Hopefully, once you have a chance to explore the online community a bit, I think you'll find a dynamic group of likeminded people who are all fascinated by the field of depth psychology. Our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.
On that note, I hope you're finding opportunities to engage as you browse the vast content and interact with others. You may want to consider joining the online book club if you haven’t already—There's a new author each month, and you can jump in at anytime and participate at whatever level you wish. Even if you don't have the book for this month, you can read all the comments that have gone on so far and get a feel for the story--or Feb. 1 will bring a wonderful new book from Jungian Analyst Erel Shalit as well as a special online study group on Astrology.
Also, you mentioned looking for opportunities to connect with others doing this work---and I see you're in the Bay Area. As luck would have it, we're planning our first in-person meetup and speaker evening in Marin on March 23, so it should be a great opportunity to actually get some in-person connection. You can see more about the event in the Events section--and you may want to join "Bay Area Hive" (under groups) to get updates and connect with people here. Hope we meet soon!
