"I also looked into getting my PhD in Psychology and focusing on Jungian Analysis.  I live near Philadelphia and there is a Jungian Society here.  I also looked online and found where I could get a degree in Transpersonal Psychology.  I'll be…"

"I have to say that what I've found most interesting is that it's been like a journey that started with an interest in Kabballah.  Along the way, each reading brought me to another place and another interest. Jung's writings seemed to bring it all…"

"Thank you Ed for the welcome. I liked Living Gnosis-Tau Malachi, Modern Woman in Search of Soul-Singer, The Gnostic Jung-Stephen Hoeller. The Gnostic Gospels-Pagels.

  • Now that we are "fast friends"... (In this world, sharing more than three paragraphs of information makes you a friend. :)  ) If you feel comfortable enough to send me your address through an email through this site, I'll mail you the book of Jung and Pauli. It seems we have a number of interests in common (even to the point that I have a sister who lives outside of Philly and a family beach house on the Jersey shore). Its hard to imagine where to narrow the conversation to a particular concept. I also don't want to seem a cyberspace stalker. Whenever you have something "bubble up" I'd enjoy the conversation. Best...

  • I'll send you Jung and Pauli if you haven't already read it.

As to the Black Swan, I know there are discussions on the site as well as my own interest in the film. It was a great example of the alchemical process gone wrong, too much heat and not enough distillation. As to the Kabballah, I just bought a series through Sounds True that I have next to my player. An earlier book I came across was Honey from the Rock (I think that was the title, I'm not at home now). Before I found Jung, I was looking for a psychology program that would address religion or a religion class that would address psychology and noone wanted to bridge that supposed gap. Then I read Jung who attempts to live in the gap. That's why I am at Pacifica getting my PhD in Depth Psychology, "minding the gap" as they say on the Tube in England. :)

  • Virginia,

I know the Hoeller book and Pagels. Curious how so many groups and theoretical schools wish to include Jung in their lists of devotees or originators, groups that would not consider even sitting down with one another otherwise. What are some of your most interesting "finds" in your reading? (I'll share mine if you share yours.) :)

  • Welcome Virginia,

Glad you found us, and if you are a book junkie like me, try New Gnosis: Heidegger, Hillman, and Angels by Roberts Avens. What titles have you liked? I'm always looking to increase by library. :)  Hope you will join in the many exchanges within the groups, forums, and blogs.
