Calling those who live east of the Mississippi and south of the Mason-Dixon. I love California, Chicago, New York and New England, but need to connect with others in the South who are interested in exploring Jungian/Archetypal theories and practice.

  • Hi Ed et al. I'm not sure I understand all the JITS stuff. I joined the Archetypal Astrology group. Is anyone else going to Atlanta this weekend to the Jung Society talk on Archetypal Astrology. Would be great to meet up.

Really looking forward to the Journeys Conference. Just got their latest announcement. Here's a link to the programs, with your picture!!!! http://www.journeyconferences.com/conferenceinformation.htm

  • Thanks Bonnie,

So folks, two ways to get there. Please remember to add JITS Event if the event is listed in the Events section of the Alliance site and add that event in our "calendar" above. (I just cut & paste where I find them).

    Happy trails.

    Ed

BTW: I'll be providing a morning meditation at the Journey Conference in NC.

My real picture (yikes) is on their website.

Also: Lilan and others - Did you see the new archetypal astrology group? Would enjoy hearing what you learn/experience in Atlanta.

  • Ed--Thanks so much for setting up this way to track events. Another thought I had is if anyone adds an event in the Events section that is in the "south", you could add "JITS Event" to it and then everyone could use that as  search term in the search box at top right and they would all come up.
  • Catherine, thank you for the compliment, your colors are brighter, yeah!

Ed thank you for attending to building the information on events.

  • Katherine and Catherine and others: I checked to see if there was a way to create a calendar just for the South on this site and it seems at the moment to be a problem. Here is a possible solution. In the above discussion forum section, I will list each month for the up coming several months. If you know a conference/speaker/etc. that is presenting during that month, please add the information in the month. I'll put up the next three months after I finish this note. Lets see how it works for everyone.
  • Hi Katherine,

I love your profile photo and the suit jacket you are wearing in it. I am not sure about the calendar, as I have sort of been on hiatus from the group lately, but sure Ed or someone else will have an answer for you.

Mainly wanted to welcome you, Catherine

  • Hi all - is there a calendar for events in the south? I'm not seeing it.

    Thanks for any leads.

    Katherine

  • Bonnie will be sending postcards and buttons that mention the DPA. If you are interested, I'll have these to help identify each other. Count down to NC. So, now that we have this one, what is coming up in your area after October?
  • Hello Ed and all, Can't wait for the Journey Conference. AND, I'm going to Atlanta on Sept 16/17 for a program at the Jung Society of Atlanta on The Joy of Astrology, Living an Archetypal Life. As an Astrologer, I'm really looking forward to it. Anyone else going? Ed, what hotel did you stay at when you were there last?

    Lilan

  • Welcome Deanna,

The event coming up in October where several of us may be able to meet is the Journey Conference in North Carolina. If you are free to join us, see you then. We will most likely decide what will help us identify each other at the event.

    Ed

Jung and the Arts

This will be the focus of the first Jung in the South Conference and except for a few folks I know who would like to present, this is as far as it has gotten. I would like to make this planning a group endeavor. Is anyone connected with a college or university or art institute (housing and board made easier) that might be interested in hosting the event? I imagine during the summer if an academic setting.  If you do plan to check with organizations in your area, please let me know so I don't…

This discussion invites those who attended the 2012 Journey Conference to reflect on their experiences and learnings. I hope it will add some information that will help others make wise decisions related to attending events where the Journey presenters will be appearing.

Suggestions on Readings for a Directed Study Proposal.

Since my graduate program doesn't offer any Jungian courses regularly, I'm getting ready to draft a proposal for an independent study course that focuses specifically on Jung.  There's a couple of faculty members that have an interest in Jung that may agree to be the overseer and mentor for me on this.  I figured if I came up with a proposed course of study that it would only help my chances of getting one to agree, but I'm having a very hard time narrowing down what the proposed readings for…
