Several of our members are published, either books, workbooks, and/or articles. We invite those published to list their works so that the rest of us can find great reads. Any authors willing to start a book study with the Alliance folks?

  • You're very welcome, Mark.  I've ordered it and it's on its way.  Your topic is a favorite of mine and I'm looking forward to learning more about it.
  • Thank you so much, Jean!
  • Congratulations and thanks for letting us know about your book Mark.  It looks like a great contribution to the literature about archetypes. I'm off to Amazon to buy it!
  • Dear All, I just joined the Alliance and am happy to announce the online availability of my recently published book at amazon

Adventure in Archetype: Depth Psychology and the Humanities

My favorite review so far follows:

"As a professor of the Psychology of Personality for many years I can attest to the fact that for beginning students of Jung's psychology, one of the more difficult concepts to grasp is that of the Archetype. Understanding the concept with examples has often proved elusive. But with Mark Greene's new book we have the solution at hand. He has written a most readable and accessible set of essays which illuminate archetypal experience in many areas of literature, art, religion and mythology with a view to helping us understand ourselves better. As he succinctly puts it: "Familiarizing oneself with the concept of archetypes and their myriad manifestations in myths, legends and fairy tales can provide a better understanding of how individual psychology functions". Dr Greene has done teachers and students of personality alike a great service by a writing a comprehensive and accessible book which should serve as a standard in archetypal psychology for years to come."9142755666?profile=original

  • Fantastic contribution, very helpful,  many thanks Ed. In future could you add the publisher of my recent book, Embodying Osiris -  Quest Books (Theosophical Society) http://www.questbooks.net/ Thom Cavalli
  • Lewis, I too want to thank you for the marvelous list you've compiled of online resources and shared with us.  I've copied it and will save it for future reference.  What a generous gift you've given us all! Very kind.

To all, I'm thrilled to announce that I also have a new book coming out this June from Larson Publications, Inc.  It's called "Healing the Sacred Divide:  Making Peace With Ourselves, Each Other, and the World."  My publisher just sent me a blurb that will go to the sales people to explain a bit about the book so I'll attach it here directly from his e-mail. Sorry it's so big:  I don't know how to make it smaller... :-)

What if you got a wrong memo about what God wants of you, and ran with (or against) it for years? Raffa helps you find and take joy in healing painful divides this could cause in yourself and your relationships, and between values like masculine/feminine and spiritual/unspiritual in your world. She presents this process as an authentic spiritual practice—from a seasoned, integrated progressive Christian Jungian perspective—to become wisely open-minded and open-hearted.
  • Wow, thanks Lewis for the comprehensive list of books/publishers (etc.)! Much appreciated. :) Bonnie, My book is called, 'Elements of Self-Destruction' and it is being published by Karnac Books in Oct. 2012. It is a depth psychological, phenomenological, historical view of the phenomenon of self-destruction in society and the field of psychology with clinical implications. Karnac will be sending me promo matierals and I will be talking more about it as the time arrives. Thank you for asking! :D
  • Hi Brent. Your upcoming book sounds great! Can you share a synopsis with more details of what it's about? Thanks!
  • Oh, are we discussing our books? Cool. I got an email from my publisher at Karnac. My book 'Elements of Self-Destruction' will be available next Oct...I am going to try to have it released on Halloween because the book is pretty dark and because it would be kind of cool. :)
  • Hi Arlene: Your book sounds great! I'm curious about your writing process -- how you got interested in the topic, what made you think it could be a book---how it was for you to actually write the book! Would you be willing to share? If so, Just hit "Add a discussion" under the bar that says "Discussion Forum"--that way people will be able to respond to you directly and there will be a thread to follow. Thanks!

Shadow Tech - Cracking the Codes of Personal and Collective Darkness

Along with my partner Melissa Mari, I've published this book. The contents came to us as we engaged in shadow work within the container of our relationship. A number of concepts in the book had been brewing in me for several years, but only after we came together did they manifest as a coherent map. The map that began to appear was comprised of several concepts that fit together to help us understand "the destructive force in the universe" and how it manifests in the psyche and culture. Of…

Wisdom's Way - The Christian I Ching

I have just published Wisdom's Way - The Christian I Ching This book is a reinterpretation of the I Ching from a mystical Christian perspective. In this book I discuss at length Jung's lifelong fascination with the I Ching and how the I Ching fits into contemporary Christian understandings of God, spiritual direction, and discernment. I take a different approach to interpreting the I Ching. Rather than attempt to explain the traditional Chinese aphorisms that are used to illustrate the 64…

DIonysos Archetype of Individuation

If the Dionysian myth is a psychic projection, could it be reversed engineered back into the psyche. If we could complete this reverse engineering project, might we concomitantly discover a Rosetta Stone providing us with a key to understanding the language of the internal aspect of nature. If we could find such a Stone, would we also discover the Greeks created a sophisticated interactive map of the psyche. The internal aspect of nature. Our underlying instinctual dynamic. The…

Returning to Membership in Earth Community: Systemic Constellations with Nature

Depth psychology is based on human experiences - whether they are induced purposefully or occur spontaneously - that transcend and often directly challenge our everyday materialistic perceptions of the world as being made of separate independent objects - a person, a tree, a bird, a bee, a mountain. What is the network that connects and communicates between these apparently separate things? One of the most interesting and useful tools to explore these connections and communications is systemic…
