The modern world is passing through a period of critical change on many levels: cultural, political, ecological, and spiritual. The myth of the hero’s journey offers a symbolic portrayal of the individual’s struggle for greater consciousness, psychological wholeness, and spiritual realization. Against this background, Keiron Le Grice draws on the developing insights of a new cosmology and the hero’s journey to elucidate meaning and search for a coherent framework that can lead us beyond the growing fragmentation of culture, belief, and personal identity.

In The Rebirth of the Hero, Le Grice draws on the ideas and life experiences of C.G. Jung, Joseph Campbell, and Friedrich Nietzsche to explore the spiritual journey of the modern self, from existential crisis and spiritual awakening to the dramatic encounter with the underworld of the psyche and the arduous labor of psychological transformation.

The Archetypal Cosmos presents a new understanding of the role of myth and archetypal principles in our lives, one that could give cosmic perspective and deeper meaning to personal experience. In a compelling synthesis of the ideas of seminal thinkers from depth psychology and new paradigm science, Le Grice positions the new discipline of archetypal astrology at the center of an emerging world view that reunifies psyche and cosmos, spirituality and science, mythology and metaphysics, enabling us to see mythic gods, heroes, and themes in a fresh light.

Keiron Le Grice is core faculty in the Jungian and Archetypal Studies specialization at the Pacifica Graduate Institute, where he teaches courses on archetypes, alchemy, and synchronicity. He is the author of three books, and the editor/co-founder of Archai: The Journal of Archetypal Cosmology. Keiron has also taught in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness program at the California Institute of Integrates Studies (CIIS) and for Grov Transpersonal Training. He holds degree from the University of Leeds, England (B.A. honors, Philosophy and Psychology) and CIIS (Ph.D., Philosophy and Religion).
