The current leadership of the United States government has given incontrovertible expression to deeply rooted American traditions such as racism, sexism, religious bigotry, homophobia, and lack of regard for the many other-than-humans whose bodies are also nature.
When this is news to you or you’ve been working on healing these toxins for decades, for relational, open-hearted, diversity-valuing people this recent spasm of ignorance calls for sacred warriorship and proactive defense of all that is holy and possible in our longing for healthy culture.
This response may be overtly political or take 101 other forms, but a bit of conflict is inevitable. And how we navigate conflict is absolutely part of the work, an aspect of sacred activism.
In this hour online teaching (free, open to all) we’ll discuss how to fight the good fight without becoming the problem you’re fighting.
We’ll touch on how to avoid reactively cannibalizing people who are potential allies. We’ll explore how to raise awareness in the moment without reverting to shaming and bullying tactics of the empire. We’ll look to animist traditions on how to lean hard into sacred combat without objectifying your enemies or creating new ghosts.
