David Hartman replied to Christopher Doggett's discussion Lecture 9 for the Red Book Study Group in ARCHIVED-Red Book Study Group with Jungian Robert Bosnak
"David Hartman here. No posts since May 18 - is that correct? I'm ready to begin Lecture 10.
I have re-surfaced after a two-month hiatus of work immersion, and am current with Robbie’s talks and with all the posts. I’d like to offer a couple of…"

"It is fascinating to me to observe the progression of Jung’s relationship with the reality of objects in the imaginal world. He struggles with Elijah’s statement, “We are real and not symbols” in the Red Book (page 246). Years later, in his first…"

  • Thanks for your reply David. Do let me know when next you're in South Africa. How wonderful to be online with Robert Bosnak discussing The Red Book. I'm in a group which meets every alternate Monday night and we are studying The Red Book. I will certainly look at the link supplied below by Koffenberger.

    All best,

    Susan

  • Nice to read about you David. I have just joined and am so pleased.

    Best wishes,

  • Welcome David,

Glad you found and decided to join the Alliance. The numbers are growing and the various expertise and experience widens the perspective of depth psychology engaged with the world. I look forward to your additions to the site. Now for the official welcome...

As you may know, we currently have nearly 2000 members from all over the world and we're growing. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from various walks of life including artists, writers, doctors, scientists, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

On that note, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.

Also, as you may be aware of the January online book club featuring "The War of the Gods in Addiction" with David E. Schoen who is, of course, also offering a free 4-week teleseminar which started January 9--though you can listen to the archived version and join any future week. Since the online part of the Book Club is done via writing in an open forum, you can participate at your own level and schedule--and you can join the discussion anytime, even if you don't have the book. Also upcoming in January is a special study group on the Red Book with Robert Bosnak starting January 19.

In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link----http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site----and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community.
