Fascinating topic. I've been increasingly interested in the way those who control media will change the images and definitions of events to support, or at least not damage, whatever political/economic agenda is being put forth. Nothing really new there but the influence of media is so much more pervasive today. My only real study was the changing of terms used by those involved in mountain-top removal as a means of mining. I would enjoy hearing more about your work.....after the gods/goddesses, the gatekeeper(s) and timekeeper(s) grace you with your moment in history. :)

Hi Diane. Welcome to the Alliance. Your name looks familiar to me--maybe I've seen it around Pacifica. I'm finishing coursework in June in the Depth Program--and as Ed pointed out, you've probably already noticed there are a lot of Pacifica students, grads, and faculty here in the community.
Sounds like you're in the late dissertation phase. I hope you'll share your learning and experience here in the community!--maybe some of your writing? I encourage you to jump in and engage right away by asking a question, joining a discussion or group, commenting on others' posts, or posting some of your own work. I'll send you some tips on navigating the site in a separate email. Enjoy the site!
From CA to PA...Culture shock??? :)
What is your PhD topic? When is the date of your defense? Could it be as early as June?
Hey Diane,
Welcome Pacifica-ite!!! There are quite a few in the Alliance. What track and year are you? Emphasis? I think you will find much of interest within the Alliance, so I look forward to your posts.
