  • Hello Eric, welcome to the group Encountering the Numinous! I really resonate with your comment that you have become captivated by Jung and depth psychology. I had heard of Jung but never read anything until I happened into a Depth Psychology master's program at age 55. I hadn't been in school since 1975 and was a little intimidated about whether I could hack it. I finished my thesis over a year ago, and I can say that the program is the single most important gift that I've every given myself. It was three years and I loved every minute of it. Good luck to you, and I look forward to hearing your comments in different groups in the Alliance.

  • Welcome Eric,

I believe you will find many others who share both your specific interests and your strong interest in all things Jungian/archetypal. Feel free to join a few blogs, forums, and/or groups and add your thoughts, insights, and questions. We are all sharing the same path.

  • Hi Eric. Welcome to the online Depth community. I'm glad you've found us. The idea of "active learning" is profound--you could probably write a fascinating book with that title that would sell well. I hope you'll find many topics of interest to stimulate just that facet of learning here on the Alliance.

Meanwhile, I encourage you to jump in and engage right away by joining a discussion, commenting on others' posts, or posting some of your own work. I'll send you some tips on navigating the site in a separate email. Enjoy!

Symbolically, Black Friday is the reigning idol of consumer religion. Already I have read reports about crowds of people vying for deals — people shot and stabbed, arrests made, fights and scuffles (there were even …

Dream and Non-dream

I fell asleep in my daughter's room. She is three, and I drifted off while putting her to sleep.

I dreamed that my wife had set the cable box to the television out on the curb. I was very angry in the dream. She was hostile too. I brought the cable box back inside and hooked everything up. I tried to turn on the television. Emphatically, I pushed the on button. I woke up.

Awake, I left my daughter's bedroom and went into my bedroom. My wife was awake. She told me that the…
