Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
I am profoundly interested in depth psychology and have considered becoming an analyst. My background is in archaeology and anthropology (Ph.D. in anthropology) and have taught classes on religion, ritual, and myth. I hope to continue exploration of depth psychology -- particularly as it relates to art and symbolism -- and interact with others with similar interests.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
I receive material from the Jung Center of NYC -- I formerly worked in the city and I am now based back in western Mass., but travel to the city -- as well as other Jung groups around the country.

Your experiences are quite "rich." The Navajo experience interests me and I'm also curious about the challenges in cultural resource management. The second interest is in light of my belief that history and culture are being seen as only adjunct to the definition of "reality" in this post-modern age. Did you find a certain disinterest from the general population regarding the protection of cultural resources?

Welcome Richard,
Glad you found and decided to join the Alliance. I am curious about you PhD in anthropology. What was your focus? I also am quite interested in your art/symbolism connection with depth psychology in that I am currently attempting to put together a conference tentatively called "Jung and the Arts." Should we "talk?"
Welcome again and...
As you may know, we currently have nearly 2000 members from all over the world and we're growing. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from various walks of life including artists, writers, doctors, scientists, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.
