This small painting was abstracted from the Hubble Space Telescopes photograph of the Carina Nebula. It is representative of the one hundred or so paintings which have occupied me for the past four years. I named the series "Celestials" as they spoke to me of something more etherial than an astronomical hypothesis. My challenge in attempting these representations in small format, was finding the materials with which I could create the illusion of infinite depth.
