“Dream persons are complexes walking around; symptoms are the irruption of these persons into our normal lives. Our personal complexities are indeed the persons of our complexes.” –James Hillman in “Re-Visioning Psychology”
The sooner we honor the reality of these mysterious forces in our lives, the sooner we can begin to work with the hand we have been dealt and the hand we are playing. Otherwise it is far too easy to feel that we have ourselves been played. Being in relationship, in dialogue, confronting, sympathizing and more often than not--working with these forces and figures is essential soul work.
