  • Thank you Bonnie

Belive it or not, when I was little my brother use to love watching Batman on TV and buying all his comicbooks. I often wonder about batman in all his expressions, and now that I have watched this all my spect6ualations about him and all the villins was right. I was a little girl and did not "of corse" know what to call these personalities. But now by watching this the lables have been attached for my understanding, this has been a great depth in a psychological heroism film.

  • Hi Wendy and Dennis--I'm so glad you took the time to watch this video and to comment. While I don't suppose it was made by a "depth psychologist" per se, it certainly a really well-done commentary on the Batman character as a symbol of shadow and sublimation. For me, films are always such a powerful way that allows the Self to bypass my ego and deliver a message in a way that I am open to. Maybe someone should start a group here in the community on depth psychology in film....?
  • Thank you so much for posting this! The Batman character has always resonated with me. This documentary had some interesting thoughts on why. Think I'll throw Batman Begins in the DVD player and watch it from a different perspective tonight!
  • I'm so grateful that you shared this, Bonnie.  I've long been drawn to Batman--something, I think, about how he faces, and masters, his fear--and now have some additional reading to do following up on two or three of the authors who appeared in the documentary.
