Calling those who live east of the Mississippi and south of the Mason-Dixon. I love California, Chicago, New York and New England, but need to connect with others in the South who are interested in exploring Jungian/Archetypal theories and practice.

  • Pam, honey, like bacon in green beans, you are essential to our spread. :)
  • Hi Adele from Nashville. Chile, you just git that photo uploaded by going to the top menu bar and clicking on "My Page," then on the left sidebar, click "photo," and a "browse for photo" box will come up. Click that and navigate on yor computer to the photo to be uploaded. Easy as fried chicken ~
  • I feel rather isolated from fellow "Jungthusiasts" here in Nashville, too, though I do know several and want to meet the other two who have joined this group!

This is embarrassing to ask, but could one of you instruct me in how to upload my photo?  I love seeing Jung in my place but we look nothing alike!

  • Gabriela -- I've lived in Ark all my life and still feel like a misfit --- harrrrr. The UUA idea is good. I intend the same, a little busy right now though. A few days ago I ran into a Baha'i group that meets on campus - that could be interesting. Anyway -- good to meet you!
  • Jungthusiasts... LOVE that word, Pamela! Since moving to Virginia, it has taken me approximately 8 years, one week, two days, and five hours to my begin locating my "tribe" in this conservative, Southern community (where I could live and serve a lifetime without being considered "local" -- however much I love it here). I made a conscious decision to day to live off the GRID by formally joining our local UUA congregation. Misfits and fellow congregants, here I come!
  • The conference call plan sounds very doable!
  • Gabriela -- I've never sent a text mssg (and never hope to!) Nice to see some Pacifica folks here. I'm in Arkansas -- talk about no Jungthusiasts (new word) in sight!!
  • Gabriela,

I will email the group the day and time to call a particular number and give a code number. Then we will be together. Specific info to follow soon.

  • Okay, I missed the earlier part of this discussion, so here's a question for you.  How are you planning to conference call?  Through the computer?  Video chat?  Believe it or not, I have ... never ... attempted ... a ... conference ... call.  I did at one point figure out how to use a webcam and call people through the computer, but my skills need updating.  Help!

Jung and the Arts

This will be the focus of the first Jung in the South Conference and except for a few folks I know who would like to present, this is as far as it has gotten. I would like to make this planning a group endeavor. Is anyone connected with a college or university or art institute (housing and board made easier) that might be interested in hosting the event? I imagine during the summer if an academic setting.  If you do plan to check with organizations in your area, please let me know so I don't…

Suggestions on Readings for a Directed Study Proposal.

Since my graduate program doesn't offer any Jungian courses regularly, I'm getting ready to draft a proposal for an independent study course that focuses specifically on Jung.  There's a couple of faculty members that have an interest in Jung that may agree to be the overseer and mentor for me on this.  I figured if I came up with a proposed course of study that it would only help my chances of getting one to agree, but I'm having a very hard time narrowing down what the proposed readings for…
