"Jungthusiasts... LOVE that word, Pamela! Since moving to Virginia, it has taken me approximately 8 years, one week, two days, and five hours to my begin locating my "tribe" in this conservative, Southern community (where I could live and serve a…"

"Okay, I missed the earlier part of this discussion, so here's a question for you.  How are you planning to conference call?  Through the computer?  Video chat?  Believe it or not, I have ... never ... attempted ... a ... conference ... call.  I did…"

"Ed, I also meant to point out that another strong connection between people who are posting to this discussion has to do with a very serious study of religious themes. That is so important to me, and I have had such a hard time finding people who…"

"Catherine, you must have defended your dissertation around the same time I did, but we were probably in different programs at Pacifica (or possibly different tracks)? I was in the depth program and my topic was Jung's psychology of religion and the…"

"Actually, Ed, I do have a place that can accommodate lots of visitors. Eight years ago, my husband and I bought a home on conservation lands in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia (still culturally part of the South, but located in the…"

"Ed, thank you SO MUCH for the energy you are contributing to this "Jung in the South" group. It is so much needed! Can't wait to catch up with the conversation, but just to weigh in, I am *officially* (and happily) an ISFJ. It is SO GREAT to connect…"

"Oops, I meant "sorry for" rather than "sorry to." Goes to show my "sorry," overwhelmed state, given that I'm actually teaching English grammar to new immigrants at the moment! :D"

"Sorry to the long absence from the site! I've been a bit overwhelmed with a new teaching assignment, not so much over-extended as stretching along a big learning curve. Like any new teaching position, the time involved in prep and planning meets or…"

"P.S. I often host retreats at my home, which is quite literally built for that purpose. With the current small membership of "Jung in the South," I could manage a retreat with ease. Something to keep in mind... :D"

"Yes, the leaves are turning now, it's gorgeous, and we've had a few days of perfect fall weather following a summer of draught, intense heat, locusts (figuratively speaking), and general economic distress.

My specific interest, Ed, is in Jung's…"

  • Gabriela,

Still up ti hosting a planning meeting for the Jung in the South group? It seems we have 15 members now but don't expect that number to be part of the initial planning. I hope the 15 is the "magic number" to springboard us into existence as an identified source for all thoings Jungian/archetypal. If calling would be better: 502-263-3174.

  • Just out of curiosity, are there words you are picking up from the immigrants you are teaching that express a concept far better than English?
  • Hi Gabriela. Welcome to the online Depth Psych community. I see you are already connected with the Jung in the South group--awesome! Hope you enjoy the site and consider contributing some of your own (ongoing) work in the Forum or other groups as well.
