...And something ignited in my soul,
fever or unrememberd wings,
and I went my own way,
deciphering
that burning fire
and I wrote the first bare line,
bare, without substance, pure
foolishness,
pure wisdom
of one who knows nothing,
and suddenly I saw

unfastened

The dissertation lover is a complex creature:
Sometimes so easy to be with,
Seducing me away from more concrete pleasures,
Until I want only to be with him—
Work and world be damned!
Then, at other times,
I can't stand to be in the same room with him,
Because he makes me so aware of how lost and alone I am.
Ah, the push and pull of romance, right here at the keyboard!
