Dr. Deborah Wilday, PhD, LMFT replied to Judith Harte,Ph.D.'s discussion HILLMAN MEMORIAL
"Thank-you for your touching reply, Judie. I appreciate hearing from you. I am new to DPA--just getting the hang of it. It is wonderful to be in touch with others who grieve the loss of Hillman--to share those feelings. Are you a Pacifica student?…"

Dr. Deborah Wilday, PhD, LMFT replied to Judith Harte,Ph.D.'s discussion HILLMAN MEMORIAL
" Just seeing your note, Judith. I too was at the Hillman memorial and also touched by the photo of him walking away from us. The photo evoked in me an image of Hillman as Oedipus at Colonnus: having given all he could, and all he had, returning to…"

"I think my comment and question piggy-backs on earlier discussions regarding how we deal with the unknowable aspect of the archetype as opposed to the representation of the archetype. It seems to me that by again turning to science to help us…"

Dr. Deborah Wilday, PhD, LMFT replied to Erel Shalit's discussion 2-FEBRUARY: Erel Shalit: The Cycle of Life – Themes and Tales of the Journey in ARCHIVED-Book Club 2012-2013
" The midlife crisis with its tensions of meaning-making--"know-thyself," while integrating a mature acceptance of finality without teetering into despair! Quite a journey. Reminds me that from an archetypal perspective Apollo, the Delphian god,…"

Dr. Deborah Wilday, PhD, LMFT replied to Erel Shalit's discussion 2-FEBRUARY: Erel Shalit: The Cycle of Life – Themes and Tales of the Journey in ARCHIVED-Book Club 2012-2013
"In one of his last lectures, on "Puer and Senex'" James Hillman declared himself an unrepentant puer still integrating his senex energies. He stressed how little either energy had to do with physical age. Of course, James was using a bit of…"

Dr. Deborah Wilday, PhD, LMFT replied to Erel Shalit's discussion 2-FEBRUARY: Erel Shalit: The Cycle of Life – Themes and Tales of the Journey in ARCHIVED-Book Club 2012-2013

At the beginning of Cycle you write, Erel, that with budding consciousness comes division and from that problems arise. A problem-free life is a life that resists consciousness. Reminds me of the myth of Eros and Psyche; the…"

  • HI Deborah,

I noticed that you couldn't find the interview with Robert Bosnak, here is the link: http://www.shrinkrapradio.com/2012/11/29/328-the-red-book-and-cycle...

Bonnie is fixing the link issue here on depth alliance. I hope you enjoy the interview!

  • Hi D: I sent you a message to your DPA email Judie

  • Welcome Deborah,

Glad to have another Pacifica-ite in the Alliance. What is the topic of your dissertation? Does it remain within the therapeutic realm or are you working outside that focus? With all the blogs, forums, and groups, I hope that there is some doscussion about your area of interest. Or you could start one!! :)  Again, welcome.

  • Hi Deborah. Welcome to the online depth community. So glad you're here. There are many Pacifica students, faculty and grads that seem to gravitate to the site!--and how great the Dr. Shalit is on your dissertation committee. I had the pleasure of connecting with him at the Assisi conference in Italy in 2010 and found him to be brilliant and warm.

Meanwhile, I hope you'll find many opportunities to engage as you browse the vast content and begin to interact with others. The book club promises to be wonderful!--it's already got me reading a novel for the first time in many years, which is a GREAT change from the usual grad school reading (even at Pacifica) I must say.

Meanwhile, in case you need detailed help getting started, personalizing your profile photo, and navigating the site, please use the following link-- http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site --and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community~Bonnie Bright, Founder
