Hi Deborah. Welcome to the online depth community. So glad you're here. There are many Pacifica students, faculty and grads that seem to gravitate to the site!--and how great the Dr. Shalit is on your dissertation committee. I had the pleasure of connecting with him at the Assisi conference in Italy in 2010 and found him to be brilliant and warm.
Meanwhile, I hope you'll find many opportunities to engage as you browse the vast content and begin to interact with others. The book club promises to be wonderful!--it's already got me reading a novel for the first time in many years, which is a GREAT change from the usual grad school reading (even at Pacifica) I must say.
