"The Zombie myth for me expresses the high cultural value the West places on the competitive thinking function rather than the feeling function. To value and actualize the feeling function and place a high value on the importance of compassion and…"

"Thanks Marta...I had the same question (saw the same contrast/comparison) regarding institution vs individuals (transrevolution, self-destruction, or parasitism). I thought of a Johari Window and congruence...being in the "open, blind or hidden"…"

"Alchemy is up for me as well; I'm teaching a class at CIIS called Gnosticism, Alchemy, Terraspirituality.
Interesting parallels with Dorn! Reunion of self, body, etc. with world fits with Earthrise, I would think. I look at all the eradigms,…"

"Very interesting ideas. Yes, that makes perfect sense. My impulse is always to go into the myths that are actually up, even when being lived out unconsciously, and look for how they could be reimagined. In some stories the zombie through various…"

  • Greetings Marta and welcome to the online depth psychology community. It's great you've found us! (There are a number of Pacifica community members here, including myself). We are accepting submissions for the Fall 2014 E-Zine Depth Insights and you might want to submit an essay for consideration.

As you may know, we currently have over 3100 members from all over the world. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

We recommend that to get started, you personalize your profile photo by going to your "My page" and rolling your cursor over the default C.G. Jung image. That will give you the option to switch it to a person picture. As well, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to another member's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.

Here are a few quick links to front page items that may be of interest to you. Mythic Activism with Alliance board member and Terrapsychologist, Craig Chalquist; the audio replay of Apocalypse vs. Utopia: The Soul Opportunity of Our Time, with depth psychologist Bill Plotkin for The Zurich Lab; and a Shrink Rap Radio interview from Dr. Dave Van Nuys and Dr. James Alexander "You wanna piece of me?: Past, present, future of psychotherapy"

You can also weigh in on the weekly depth discussions by clicking the image and quote at the top of the home page. And here's a link to help you navigate the site for your convenience.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you around the community.
