  • Hi Michael - good to have a DPA friend from holy toledo (an old saying that I have no idea concerning the origin, just know we used these two words together in my younger years when something caught us in awe, and perhaps, you can enlighten me as you actually live on the geographical ground with the same name.  We are participating and embarking on an amazing travelogue indeed and I am grateful to Jung for the gifts.  I envision us all as grains of sand, sharing our bits and ways.  At this stage we can simply imagine Jung and TRB as the vessels and oyster shell and wonder what our groups conscious and unconscious collectives will create - any pearl formations?

I am in depth as a novel Jungian explorer with familiar planes spoken in foreign tongues, so I am sometimes lost in Jungian translations.  Looking forward to reading your log entries during this great adventure.  Regards Linda

  • Hi Michael. Welcome to the online depth psychology community.I'm so glad you've joined us. I'm so glad you've jumped in to the Red Book study group and look forward to more of your comments there!

Meanwhile, as you may know, we currently have over 2000 members from all over the world and we're growing. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from various walks of life including artists, writers, doctors, scientists, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

On that note, please take a moment and introduce yourself in the Forum and let the community know what brings you here or what your background is. Also, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.

Also, as you may be aware, the January online book club featuring  "The War of the Gods in Addiction" with David E. Schoen also includes a free 4-week teleseminar Wednesdays in January--though you can listen to the archived version and join any week. Since the online part of the Book Club is done via writing in an open forum, you can participate at your own level and schedule--and you can join the discussion anytime, even if you don't have the book. Also in January (as you know) we've just launched a special study group on the Red Book with Robert Bosnak starting January 19.

In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link----http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site----and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community. ~Bonnie Bright, Founder
