age: grizzled hippie experimenter; married; five cats; fourteen year old car; blue jeans. . . long standing encounter with depth psychology from the perspective of self-development, and, being compelled by my daemon! to study and contemplate the human story/stories. main topics: music (musician) art (artist) research focus: fortuity and constitutive luck in adult development; [Gregory] Batesonian in the main; anthropology, experimental philosophy, philosophy of psychology, folk psychology, sociology, and, concentration in adult learning and experiential learning I do not know about benefits until the opportunity to obtain same comes about.

Hi Stephen. Welcome to the Alliance. I'd like to add my greetings to Ed's.

I hope as you explore the community here a bit you are finding a dynamic group of likeminded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. As you likely know by now, while there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

On that note, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. Some ideas for getting started are to post a topic for discussion in the Forum, to respond to someone else's post, or to share a link to an article or web site you like. You can also post a few paragraphs of your own blog (if you have one) in the Blogs section and put a link so people can go to your site and read the rest.

Welcome Stephen,

Glad you found and decided to join the Alliance. There are a number of people who are drawn to art that have joined recently. I hope you get to "meet" them in the many blogs, forums, groups, and book studies available in the Alliance. You may even want to start your own discussion group.
