Pacifica Graduate Institute

no
Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
Narrative psychology combined with social systems on the "outside" and Jungian understanding of the interior "systems" make a nice pairing. Currently working on soul-related theoretical research establishing that soul is a misnomer. A proper understanding begins with seeing that souling as process is a better beginning to understanding the workings within the Psyche.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
Many, but most are Jungian based.
What is your WEB SITE (IF you would like to promote it)?

Hi Ed,
Thanks for your welcome. I'm not sure if you got my response so I'm sending it again.
I am looking forward to reading everyone's comments and am glad to have found a virtual community for us depth-psycho's! My dissertation has to do with imagery and the end-of-life (body) experience since I am a hospice social worker in Santa Barbara and work with many patients and families with life-threatening illness and old age. What's yours about???
Hi Ed,
Thank you for your welcoming note and your interest in my work. As of horses and depth psychology, I will elaborate on it later, I am at the moment packing to spend a week of vacation in the Glacier national park in Kalispell, MT. It became my priority those last few days!! My thesis topic is on sizygy and the divine couple in the work of Henry Corbin on the "perfect Nature", Kundalini Yoga and jung's Mysterium.
But for now, off to the glaciers we go.
The next ARC issue journal theme will be (more or less)
on the topic "Imaginal Reality" or "The Reality of the
Imaginal". The lead piece (written by me) will draw on Henri Corbin's
account of Ibn 'Arabi, William Chittick's Imaginal Worlds, Gaston Bachelard,
Robert Romanyshyn, the apophatic tradition, Vivian Dharrock-Lozowski's The
uncoded world: A poetic semiosis of the wandered, Jorge Ferrer's & Jacob
Sherman's the participatory turn. We want to do this in part because of the
ongoing regulation of psychotherapy process in Ontario in which the tendency to
privilege the rational-empirical mode of knowing over all else is prominent.
I will ask Robert Romanyshyn and Vivian Dharrock-Lozowski
if they might contribute something.
You, and others, are welcome to offer a contribution on
this topic for the journal - or in other parts of the ARC. ARC Arts will
probably feature Susanna Hood and her dance works with video. The magazine will
be eclectic based on what's around.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the welcome comment (a month ago! ;-/) I received my MA in Mythological Studies with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology and am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the same, working on the dissertation! Look forward to being part of this community!

Hi Ed,
Thanks for your message, though I'm unclear what you mean about the interface between MFT systemics and depth psychological inner systems.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to sharing what emerges for me on this dissertation path as it engages the intersections between the sacred feminine, the indigenous knowledge system and the end of life.
I am in the throes of completing a stack of papers for the end of the quarter and when I "come up for air" I look forward to starting group around my interests.
~~"see you there" :D
Thanks for your welcome Ed. I'm a new graduate of Lesley University's Expressive Therapies MA program and have an interest in Jungian art therapy. I look forward to participating in the website.
