I am a fan of Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, and studied holiotropic breath work (informal student) for three years under Jacquelyn Small and Tav Sparks. I have studied astrology (self-taught) since age eleven. I am largely self taught in all these areas and need direction and guidance from others at this point.

My take. becoming conscious of our unconscious influences makes us so much better at our work with others. I rank this above having a chosen modality of service for even the choosing of modality is driven by the unconscious if we are not aware. I like your use of the term witness for it was used often in the liberation psychology courses I took most recently. Best to you and your work to make a better world, one person at a time.

Hi Kelly. Welcome to the online depth community. Once you have a chance to explore the site a bit, I think you'll find a dynamic group of likeminded people who are all fascinated by the field of depth psychology. One thing that I really like about it personally is that, while there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, business people, etc--so there is much knowledge and experience here to be shared.
On that note, I'm also glad you're interested in Kathleen Burt's astrology study group. It should be a great session and sounds like its right up your alley. I also know Tav and have been taking the HB modules for several years (on the slow boat to certification) so we have something in common.
Meanwhile, in case you need detailed help getting started, personalizing your profile photo, and navigating the site, please use the following link-- http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site --and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community~Bonnie Bright, Founder
Welcome Kelly,
Glad you found us and decided to join the Alliance. There are many blogs, forums, and groups that focus on many of your interests so I believe you will find much to explore. I also hope you will add your learning and experience to these discussions. Just curious, have you found any use of depth psychology in your work as a social worker/therapist?
