Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
Narrative psychology combined with social systems on the "outside" and Jungian understanding of the interior "systems" make a nice pairing. Currently working on soul-related theoretical research establishing that soul is a misnomer. A proper understanding begins with seeing that souling as process is a better beginning to understanding the workings within the Psyche.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
Many, but most are Jungian based.

Thank you, Ed, I appreciate the thoughtful comments and warm welcome.
Yes, these are special beings to me... the bear, the salmon, the deer and elk, the cougar, the raven, the owl, the gray jays who will land on your hand in winter. We all live here in the Pacific Northwest. These creatures do appear in my dreams, meditations and art and when I am very lucky- in my life.
They often do not seem spirit (imaginal) animals to me, but more like individual beings who communicate through spirit.... leaving me with a sense of urgency to do more to plead their cases, to help protect their individual lives, their rights to the planet.
Well, it is spring and a time for hope and new beginnings for us all. I wish you well in your own challenges.

Thanks for the welcome, Ed.
Hi Ed!
Thank you for your welcome message. I currently work as a Montessori teacher/guide of very young children, ages 3 through 6, a time when it is so important to find ways to interpret difficulties, to support development of a healthy self-concept. I am hoping to continue to further my personal insight and understanding of the human condition through this connection.

Ed,
Thank-you for the welcome, My studies at Pacifica focus on the bodymind connection and how psychological resistance displays itself through the physical sutble body. I have studied cranio-sacral therapy as well and my desire is to interwine depth psychology and craniosacral therapy to encourage deeper healing.
What is your focus?
Thanks for the welcome Ed -- Yes, I am planning to study at Langara college in Vancouver, more info here: http://www.langara.bc.ca/continuing-studies/programs-and-courses/pr...
I am really happy to have found the depth psychology alliance, it certainly seems to be a wealth of information to explore.
- Cheers!
Hi Ed. I also wanted to let you know Louisville is one of my favorite cities. I have an artist friend that lives there that you might enjoy knowing. Also, I teach each year at Advanced Massage Therapeutics. Charlie Watson is the owner of that school and a very fine person.
Hello Ed. Thanks for the welcome into this group. There are a lot of moving parts in my life, and I will stay in the depth with you all, but probably will allow some time space for elements to either knit together, dissolve, or transform for a bit before being able to add much to the discussion. My individual path has included personal Jungian studies for many years, then a diversion into Carlos Casteneda's experiences and time with a personal relationship in shamanic studies for a few years. Kabbalistic studies followed, and finding my own inner guru(s). I study astrology, too, and am particularly interested in the very very powerful transformational energies afoot with the Earth, and collectives of various kinds, especially having to do with business, money, government, resources for all of us here on Spaceship Earth. I have been helping new families welcome their newborn babies through training newborn massage instructors for 19 years. That has been a beloved, healing journey. I look forward to everyone's comments about what you are all learning along the way, in a deep way.
Unfortunately I'm a little way away from Louisville. Maybe if you branch out closer to Princeton I'll be able to pitch in. ;) Thanks for the welcome.
At the time I was at Pacifica, I lived in San Luis Obispo, just 100 miles north of Santa Barbara. While I was working in my thesis, my father died suddenly, and it shook me to my soul. I ended up moving back to the Midwest to stay with my mother so she would be able to stay on the family farm.
I've been away from the depth for much too long, and already have found many articles that I plan to read.
