  • Hey Jeanne,

I am still considering all the MTW conference offered; reflecting on different experiences, people and the overall feeling of being connected to yet a wider circle of folks who are making an effort to live this life journey as consciously as possible.  It was great to get to meet you and I do hope I can work out my schedule to join your next dream group.  Please send me the information when you have the specifics.  My email is:  gingerkbeshears@gmail.com.   I would also love it if you were to lead an adult free style women's dance class!   Blessings of this beautiful season, ginger

  • Laner,

What worked for me was to read one author or article at a time, really be absorbed by that philosophy or worldview. Then, I would immediately sit down with my Lit Review and dig around until I found the spot it could be worked in most fluidly. This was the hard part. Unlike writing a single paper or article, the lit review is jam-packed with multiple frames of reference.

Sometimes, it worked for me to reference Freud in contrast to Jung. Most often, I found an author about whom I had already written that shared at least one component of my newest addition. So, with that connection, I was able to create a bridge between them and ease into my next discussion. Actually, I tended to include mostly those philosophies that concurred with my premise. That seemed necessary to me, as I did a interdisciplinary lit review which ended up being nearly 100 pp. I did not feel I had room for negative voices, with the exception of the key speakers on dreams, such as Freud.

If this does not make sense or isn't helpful, feel free to ask specific questions. My lit review got very positive reviews in its final manifestation. So, if you need more clarity, I'll work to provide it.

    Happy Sunday!

    Jeanne

  • Can you kindly share your technique?

    Best wishes,

    Laner

  • By the way I am comparing Jung's technique of Active Imagination with a french psychotherapy method and technique called reve eveille dirige - directed waking dream.

  • Thanks. I am struggling with producing a critical literature review, my second chapter. any ideas how to be faithful to original work of authors I am studying (which have to be included in a liteature review) but not to repeat what have been written and in a very concise way ie. ten thousand words.

     Any ideas!

I read Michael Edwards new book about art therapy and he spoke about threshold difficulties and it helped me a lot to accept my slow pace. Other ideas appreaciated.

William told me you are coming to the Netherlands. Are you?

I would like to give a friend (dancetherapist) your schedule. She is probably interested!

I look forward to seeing more discussion in that arena on the site, so I hope you will have an opportunity to post more about your work in the Forum or some of the groups. Enjoy the site!
