  • Hello Mark,

Thank you much for your welcoming, it feels so good to jump into something new. To tell the truth, is the first time in years that I do actively engage in something that interests me very much, so, that is a big deal! I mention this only to say that  I may not be very active at the beginning in here since I have a very slow pace but hope to visit constantly.

Just a comment; I noticed quite often people quote Thoreau a lot (I confess I have not read it but only passages) and wander why I don't see more on Emerson who, just as I discovered Jung, made me wander where I had been!

I will start navigating the site through your mapping Mark and thank you again for your warm message.

    Best,

    Monica R.

Thanks Mark. Nice welcome. I'm glad to found you. This is very pleasant experience to me. I recently watched interesting movie about Jung-Freud relationship; i.e. movie about two different yet 'dialectically' connected way of thinking. Interesting movie and interesting insights. Jungian way of thinking is close to me.

    Best regards,

    Toni

  • DEar Mark,

What a very nice welcome letter. Thank you. I have already been trawling the site and today spent some time on the contributors to Synchronicity Conference, in making them aware of my recently published book 'Involution-An Odyssey Reconciling Science to God'. It is very relevant to synchronicity in all its manifestations and also to the role of the Divine Feminine in shaping searches for harmony, and holistic integration. I think it might be of interest to your members and I would love to engage in discussions on allied and related ideas. Basically it is a poetic Odyssey through Western thought to expose the encoding of evolutionary experience, and the recovery of this encoded memory at moments of inspiration. Science in transferring inspiration to theory has thereby 'externalised' what is internal, and severed mind from matter and heart from mind. Poetic narration was to convey that! Needless to say a poetic odyssey did not find a commercial publisher, so the personal contact is force majeur! If interested you can find a lot of detail (reviews, interviews, readings and a large sample) here http://bit.ly/Invol-main
By the way your link to the survey does not work. I tried. I will try again, and yes add more detail to my profile. This comment did not intend to plug my book to the world, it started as a message to explain why I was here but the address re-routed me to this comments section so apologies all round!

  • I graduated from CC in 1980. CU in 1984.

My 9 Pearl address is current; I just met with a potential buyer. I have not listed it...but hope to have a sale complete in Spring. It is here in Vermont. So many towns/cities have a Pearl Street. I always wanted to live on one! My Pearl Street of over 11 years is only two blocks long, in a quiet neighborhood, up against a wooded granite hill...yet very much in the city limits.

It is a big deal to be selling my home...but it's time.

    Take care.

    Monika

  • Remember the Beatles Number 9?; I always loved that I moved into 9 Pearl. Oddly enough, after 11+ years, I met this very morning with a potential buyer...and want to leave this abode.

I did my undergraduate at The Colorado College, majoring in Comparative Religion. I visited the CG Jung Institute in Zurich, following a German language abroad course. The following year, I received a Venture grant from CC, and did an independent study...and this was the first year of the Institute being in Kusnacht.

My M.A. Ed was at CU--Colorado Springs campus--in counseling. I studied under Gay Hendricks; one class with Kathlyn. I often think that for a state university, it was pretty Naropa-ish, all things considered.

  • I appreciate your comment on my profile image. It was taken in the Champlain Valley, en route to an exhibit of three generations of Wyeth, just ahead of Halloween. My talented photog friend named it "da Bitty" - he being Irish. I saw it as a journey woman, in the autumn of her life, ready to Mentor/Guide. I must give him credit for the composition; I did dress the part, however, in the mythical realm of the visionary storyteller.

  • Thanks for touching base, Mark! It's nice to see you here as well. Thank you for your kind words. I'm excited about the changes ahead for me!

  • Yes, I have been wondering how I will work out the vocation part as well.  It's a wonderful program here at SSU and the instructors are excellent.   It has benefited me greatly already.

We have a lot of reading, but it is all interesting.

  • Thank you for your welcome.

  • Hi Mark, thanks for your warm welcome.  I am drawn to the conversation on honoring the sacred and looking forward to learning more.  Cheers, Kirti

...Whether confronting, petitioning, courting, speaking more directly or wooing, the theme here when walking one step in front of the other into a quest for new consciousness, healing and wholeness, is that this is a relationship we are entering and engaging—and thus we proceed accordingly. So by all means introduce yourself!  Give thanks, inquire with patience, persistence, grace and humility. Perhaps with impatience?! Make a plea, offer a prayer, lament the distance you feel between…

Taking Action on Behalf of Soul

9142454884?profile=original "I believe that if I can sit out there long enough those crows, the trees and the wind can teach me something about how to be a better human being. I don't call that romanticism, I call that Indigenous Realism." --Dr Daniel Wildcat

Yes, when we quest we sit out there…we also walk, wander, and explore out there. Nothing fancy. Mostly old school ways: a few pleas, some simple…

Risk Meeting Your Soul...Risk Living Your Life

Risk meeting your Soul: risk living your life!
(Clinical and poetic inspiration for all of us)

"It is my clinical experience that most of us do not have abiding permission to fully claim our own lives. Sadly, this means that we are often living in a fragmented, partial way. Our soul---that is, our psyche---knows this of course, grieves, and presents us with those many protests we call symptoms." What Matters Most, James Hollis

“My so-called personality is a persona through which soul speaks.”  (Hillman in Re-Visioning Psychology)

James Hillman used to remind us that if you don’t think you’re talking to yourself--that there isn’t a constant stream of chatter in your mind and body (dreams of course carrying the largest cast of characters and their chatter, shouts, murmurs, and demands) --you’re kidding yourself. And part of his message regarding this…

Ritual: Making It Physical

9142451284?profile=original

It is often a great relief in the midst of our busy lives to create some ceremony and space for the larger and sometimes unseen questions we otherwise ignore, forget or stuff down into the unconscious. Ahh, at last, here is an hour, a day, a weekend to strip myself of the daily accumulation of demands, directions, distractions and disassociations, to allow the bare elements…

What Kind of Men's Retreat?

9142450699?profile=original

The Heart Arrow Quest is a time and place for men to remember who they are on a deeper level: as a man, as a human, as a seed of this earth, here to flourish in our own unique manner for this lifetime, for our people, and for the many lands entrusted to us.

It is a time for reconciling the balance of my life: do I have enough of my soul, enough spirit, enough of me in…

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in. –John Muir (Scottish-born American naturalist 1838-1914)

The impulse to go out, get out, hit the road, take a vacation, nearly always holds within its volitional energy the urge to re-create or re-vision one’s life. We think of these common, even mundane responses to life’s regularity, schedule and regimen as almost a mechanical release valve, and although it…
