Ed Koffenberger left a comment on Jung in the South
"So...after a LONG time away, I resurface and wonder who is still out there, esp. in the Carolinas and Virginia? Frankly, I took too great a chunk of real estate in my exuberance with the beginning of the DPA. Now hoping there are some still…"

  • Hi Ed,

Thanks for the welcome!  Yes, I do use dream tending with couples.  I've found it can be very helpful and sometimes quite profound when two people can actually catch a glimpse of one another's unconscious life and gain an understanding of it's guiding force within the context of their relationship. I have not lead any groups as of yet, but it is something I think about doing often : )

How do you work with dreams in a spiritual context?  Sounds very interesting.

    Best,
    Laura
  • Hi Ed, Thanks for the Welcome!!  This site is by Yalom's son. As soon as I remember what it's called, I'll post it.
  • Thanks, Ed. I don't find myself "selling" depth psychotherapy to the folks who come to see me. I respond to them where they are and we follow the process where it takes us. They are usually coming to see me because someone referred them or they liked my blog or something I have done. So they come disposed to want to work with me and then we see how well we fit with each other. Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.
  • Thanks Ed - Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to getting familiar with the site and getting involved in the discussions. Thanks for your message. Elvira
  • Hi Ed, Thank you for the Welcome. I am in the dissertation phase in the Depth Psych program. I also completed the master's in counseling program 5 years ago. I hope to spend some more time here on this site so I can become familiar with it. As I do so, I look forward to contributing and learning.

  • Hi Ed and thank you for your warm welcome! I congratulate you and Bonnie on a wonderful networking site. After graduating from Pacifica I have been feeling disconnected to that community, so it feels great to be back among depth-oriented folk.

To answer your question about my dissertation, my topic was on the mythical figure of Echo primarily as she appears in two relationships: one with Narcissus and another with Pan. I considered Echo from alchemical, clinical, archetypal, and historical perspectives. The title of my work is "Revisioning Echo: The mythical figure of Echo and her importance to clinical depth psychology."

Ed, I wish you the best in your studies at Pacifica and I hope your cohort is a rewarding one. I loved my cohort and many of us are still in touch. I will definitely let them know of this great site!

  • I just now saw your comments on my page.  Anyway, my BA is going to be in Psychology and I recently decided to double major in Religion (with an emphasis in Compartive Religion).  If a conference does come about I would defnitely be up for attending.
