Ed Koffenberger left a comment on Jung in the South
"So...after a LONG time away, I resurface and wonder who is still out there, esp. in the Carolinas and Virginia? Frankly, I took too great a chunk of real estate in my exuberance with the beginning of the DPA. Now hoping there are some still…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Bonnie Bright's discussion How pervasive or recognizable is Depth Psychology?-- How (and how often) do you share?
"The actual phrase "depth psychology" about three times. The concepts and perceptions related to and introduced by depth psychology, most likely, 10+ times a week. Normally with people interested in dreams, synchronicity, religion, and philosophy.…"

Ed Koffenberger left a comment on Jung in the South
"After a hiatus that included taking a new job, moving to a new state, and having, on the way, heart surgery, I am back and needing some mental stimulation! I'm in North Carolina now (New Bern) and looking for any groups that may be in the area,…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious
"Fun. As I understand it, the collect unconscious of humanity is drawn from the combined unconscious dynamics of humanity passed down from the earliest times. If experience is the key, then the alien experience would be alien (couldn't resist) to our…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious
"Absolutely. Even Jung postulated that archetypal images could change and new images added after long periods of acceptance by humanity."

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious
"Just occurred to me that false memory creation has been going on for generations, just not along neuroscientific lines. How many times has history been rewritten and taught in our schools to generations not old enough to have their own memories of…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious
"First, going back to the original question, in the context of the collective unconscious, is there such a thing as a false memory? Within the collective unconscious, no, for all human events are physical manifestations of the human condition. Within…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious
"The collective unconscious - so far as we can say anything about it at all  - appears to consist of mythological motifs or primordial images, for which reason the myths of all nations are its real exponents. In fact, the whole of mythology could be…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Bonnie Bright's discussion What a Shaman Sees in a Mental Hospital

  • Thank you Ed.

Hi Ed, probably clinical, PHD or another masters/counseling, M/F, will decide in the next couple weeks.Have been pondering this for some time.Pacifica, probably.

  • My Mom lives in Hilton Head, SC, Where are you?
  • Hi Ed,

Yes, most of this research is being done in Europe, especially Russia. I use a system called i-health and you can learn more at www.i-health.com. I can't wait to finish my Masters in Jan 2012 so that I can start traveling around the NE and educating people about Energy Medicine.  As our environment becomes more polluted by noxious electromagnetic frequencies we need beneficial frequencies to bring us back into balance.

    Best Regards, Rachel Chevalier, VT

  • Culture shock is a very "gracious way" of saying 'beach chick to a hibernating ground hog'.  My saving thread was commuting for three years between PA and CA to attend classes at Pacifica - the best of all worlds.  A June defense is possible (although unlikely), if the Reader Gods/Goddesses are in alignment and the Scheduler at the Gates looks upon me with favor, too. My disseratation project is a study in the changes in definiton of torture since 9/11.
  • Hi Ed

    Thanks for your warm welcome.

I am a G Track Myth and Depth Psychology grad planning to defend my doctoral dissertation  summer 2011.  My family roots are in Santa Barbara, CA and I am currently hanging my hat in the burbs outside Philadelphia, PA.

  • I found out about the alliance at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, where I was attending a workshop last weekend. Thank you so much for allowing me o become a member. I am looking forward to communicate and learn through your web blogs.

  • Ed I'm screwier than ever these days with all the  writing, emailing ,posting, etc. ON the off chance that you still may have it can you send me what I wrote to you on the subject of GRACE? If that request is too needle in a haystackish, G-d knows I'll understand...Judie
  • Greetings Ed. Thank you as well for your warm welcome and responsive interest. I have been fortunate to be deeply connected and responsive to the sense of soul from early childhood; thus all of my work -- dance. teaching, writing and yes, the Ph.D. -- are all grounded in the earliest of my childhood intuitions. As philosopher Ed Casey insightfully encouraged as we spoke about his involvement in my research, "Just find your kindred spirits. . .." And so I have. And they come from all manner of disciplines, positions of thought, experiences. Mostly, I have, and continue to be, guided by this body and the soul-sense that moves through it. I apologize that I have yet to visit your website; however, the image you have is aesthetically intriguing. Mayhaps you be an artist too?
  • Hello Ed. Thanks for the warm welcome! I ruled out Zurich and Pacifica due to cost, but I'm looking at Assisi in Vermont (Conforti), Haden Institute in NC (have talked with folks who completed that program), or even the MA in Transpersonal Psych at Atlantic University in VA Beach because it is well suited to distance learning. I'm going next month to the Summer Dream Conference at The Haden Institute to further explore that program, but I've heard good things about Bob Haden and that program. Just returned from a weekend training with Jerry Ruhl in KS City (head of houston Jung Center) that was incredible. So who knows... but boy, the journey is an exciting one, wouldn't you agree? Depth Psych and Jung have given me so many gifits for understanding life and my own experiences, especially those that don't fit neatly into the boxes of psychiatry. I'm already noticing some wonderful threads and posts on this site. . . very exciting to become a member! Take care Ed!
