Pacifica Graduate Institute

no
Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
Narrative psychology combined with social systems on the "outside" and Jungian understanding of the interior "systems" make a nice pairing. Currently working on soul-related theoretical research establishing that soul is a misnomer. A proper understanding begins with seeing that souling as process is a better beginning to understanding the workings within the Psyche.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
Many, but most are Jungian based.

Thank you Ed for the welcome. I liked Living Gnosis-Tau Malachi, Modern Woman in Search of Soul-Singer, The Gnostic Jung-Stephen Hoeller. The Gnostic Gospels-Pagels.
I will definitely read your suggestions.
Be well

Hi Ed,
Thanks for welcoming me. I have a PsyD in clinical psychology and am a national speaker and expert witness in assessment and gifted. I stumbled here accidentally *on purpose* ;). I've been following Dan Siegel's work and became very CURIOUS when I learned he would be at Stan Grof's retreat in late September, early October. I am just learning about altered states of consciousness and invite your direction. I am reading Swami Muktananda's Play of Consciousness and Pema Chodron as introductions to mindfulness and meditation. Looking forward to hearing from you, Lee-Anne
PS: I'm also trained in EMDR.
Thanks for welcoming me and for your comments on fiction as a portal to the depths.
All the best, Phyllis LaPlante
Hello Ed!
I would love to hear more about the ways in which you bring Jungian concepts into marriage and family work as well. Right now I’m finishing my last semester at Naropa’s Transpersonal Counseling Psychology program and my internship ends this month as well. I say this only to illustrate that my experience in counseling has really just begun. My internship utilizes evidence-based practices and most therapeutic models they endorse are cognitive in nature. I’m working in-homes with families in crisis for short term interventions as well. I have been relying heavily on my mindfulness training as a way to work with both my agency’s agenda while still honoring my clients’ diverse needs-which also allows me to stay present in a more grounded way. Sometimes I believe that my transpersonal psychology education has really helped my awareness of not only the complexity of my clients but my own self as well. In this sense, I do not always feel I am integrating transpersonal psychology but embodying it in some ways. My internship has provided me with a wealth of experiences; however I do not have as many opportunities to work directly or with the transpersonal with families in crisis. Thank you for such a great question as I am sure I will always be mulling through this one!!!

Hello Ed,
Well I stumbled upon this DPA while at school- I'm in the clinical PhD program. I'm glad to have found the alliance.
