Ed Koffenberger left a comment on Jung in the South
"So...after a LONG time away, I resurface and wonder who is still out there, esp. in the Carolinas and Virginia? Frankly, I took too great a chunk of real estate in my exuberance with the beginning of the DPA. Now hoping there are some still…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Bonnie Bright's discussion How pervasive or recognizable is Depth Psychology?-- How (and how often) do you share?
"The actual phrase "depth psychology" about three times. The concepts and perceptions related to and introduced by depth psychology, most likely, 10+ times a week. Normally with people interested in dreams, synchronicity, religion, and philosophy.…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious

  • Hi Ed-

By "candidate" at the Jung Institute, this means I am currently in the program.  I am in my 4th year, and will be certified at the end of the program in a few more years.  It is a long process with both a personal and professional focus.  Very satisfying.  Happy to tell you more, if you are interested-

    Felicia

  • Thank you Ed. I look forward to learning more through this site.
  • Thanks, Ed. For a while I will know and explore the Alliance. Later I'll be freely to share and discuss with you. Best, Charles.
  • Thanks Ed - looking forward to knowing more about you and why you are in Louisville.  Kate

Hi Ed! Thank you so much for the offer of the reading list for the topic of ALCHEMY. I would LOVE to receive the list. Wish I had more time to respond. I am almost at the end of Catherine MacCoun's book. Now I just need to exercise my brain which is another way of saying more meditation. She lists the following processes to go through in order to travel up the "vertical":

Calcination; Dissolution; Separation; Conjunction; Fermentation; Sublimation; Radiation.

    Till next time. Lucille

  • Hi, Ed! Thanks for the sweet welcoming note. Yes, please do "get your stuff out there." Doing it is vitally important and SO MUCH FUN. I love to write––all of it, from the first rush of putting words to paper the the final nit-picking stuff of production checks. And it is work. Writing is a spiritual/psychological battle. You have to fight your complexes, shadow, and general psychological crud. It's an on-going process, too. Just because you get one piece out doesn't mean you won't block on the next. I'm currently writing a blog post on "How to Finish a Book." One of my friends, a psychotherapist for 40 years, asked me how I've done it. And I'm going to answer her, truthfully. Should be useful. It will be on http://yourshefllife.com and I'll post a notice here. I"m going to look around the site a bit. Thanks for pointing out the authors' forum. Best, Sandy Nathan

Please point your friends in my direction. Contact me via: paul@alianzaarkana

There are lot of opportunities for volunteer work here ranging from teaching English in an intercultural school the NGO is supporting in an indigenous Shipibo community near Pucallpa to helping organize a forum with the indigenous political organizations to discuss the threat of oil exploration on indigenous territory

In addition I am also getting to know who are and who are not the people to drink ayahuasca with if this is also of interest

    best wishes  Paul

  • Hi Ed

Thanks for the warm welcome and the positive comments on the NGO Alianza Arkana website:

    http://alianzaarkana.org.

There is a lot of work to do here (in Pucallpa, Peru) and I hope my participation in these forums will help with that work.

    Best wishes  Paul

  • Ha ha! Yeah, definitely :D  And I'm sure I'll be seeing Mr. Hatter down here in Wonderland!
  • Also about my experience - I thought about how to explain it because it's been a real journey - but in short, the last two months have been an extremely active and extremely compressed experience of going down through layers and layers of issues and releasing them. It was set off by someone reintroducing me to Jungian psychology, in particular archetypes, about two months ago and I've been down the rabbit hole ever since!
