Ed Koffenberger left a comment on Jung in the South
"So...after a LONG time away, I resurface and wonder who is still out there, esp. in the Carolinas and Virginia? Frankly, I took too great a chunk of real estate in my exuberance with the beginning of the DPA. Now hoping there are some still…"

"The actual phrase "depth psychology" about three times. The concepts and perceptions related to and introduced by depth psychology, most likely, 10+ times a week. Normally with people interested in dreams, synchronicity, religion, and philosophy.…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious

  • Hi Ed, thanks for your warm welcome, it is much appreciated. Yes, sandtray is quite a powerful experience... profound, and yet gentle at the same time. I love it when I have clients who are open to this process, and it does create a soul connection with them rather quickly.  I wish more would try it.  I've just begun to go through the site and it all looks very inviting!  I look forward to exploring its riches and partaking of this alchemical brew!  Best to you!  Sulfiati
  • Ed, the MTW conference was a wonderfully connecting and expanding experience for me.  While I am a new student of Jung, I feel in many ways very familiar with his described path of individuation.  Thank you for the warm welcome to this alliance.  I look forward to learning from all of you.

  • Thank you Ed... Dark night of the soul and then some!  :)
  • Hi Ed

I must confes that Jung doesn't enter my clinical world much. The reasons are complex, but this is mostly because I find other ways of thinking more useful. I have be interested in Jung for 20 years and had a mighty James Hillman phase in the mid-90's. Since then had a Winnicott/Klein phase, followed by a Lacan phase and (hold your breath) a mindfulness-behavioural phase. But the approach which is always there in the background and grounds all this other work is existential-phenomenology. So I connect to depth psychology through Romanyshyn and Roger Brooke mostly. So I tend to nourish myself through depth theory, but I can never take it too literally. It "waters" my soul.

  • Thank you, Ed!
  • Hi Ed,

The good thing that came out of this whole email mess is to reconnect w/ 3 friends whom I hadn't been in touch with for some time so that was defintely a good thing.  Am still digging out from under tho and it's amazingly time consuming!

  • Thanks for the welcome Ed.
