Ed Koffenberger left a comment on Jung in the South
"So...after a LONG time away, I resurface and wonder who is still out there, esp. in the Carolinas and Virginia? Frankly, I took too great a chunk of real estate in my exuberance with the beginning of the DPA. Now hoping there are some still…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Bonnie Bright's discussion How pervasive or recognizable is Depth Psychology?-- How (and how often) do you share?
"The actual phrase "depth psychology" about three times. The concepts and perceptions related to and introduced by depth psychology, most likely, 10+ times a week. Normally with people interested in dreams, synchronicity, religion, and philosophy.…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious
"Fun. As I understand it, the collect unconscious of humanity is drawn from the combined unconscious dynamics of humanity passed down from the earliest times. If experience is the key, then the alien experience would be alien (couldn't resist) to our…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious

  • Wow...this is a very impressive website, forum, alliance...and more! I look forward to participating....thanks, Ed!

  • Hi Ed, thank you very much for the warm welcome.  I look forward to exploring this wonderful network.

  • Thanks Ed - i am still finding my way around the site.  Is this the place to write a little introduction?  I thought that people may be interested in the MSc I did in Holistic Science from Schumacher College.  This is a very unique degree, and is quite hard to summarise simply. But on my course I was taught by many amazing visiting lectures, including Jungian psychiatrist and author Jules Cashford, Goethian scientist Arthur Zajonc (author of the book Meditation as Contemplative Enquiry), Rupert Sheldrake and many more. Depth Psychology plays a prominent part in the many courses at Schumacher College, such as EcoPsychology. The course director is Stephan Harding, colleague of James Lovelock and author of Animate Earth.

I did my degree in order to allow me to write my book "The Shaman and Snow White" which it seems that one or two of you may know.

Since graduating, I have been developing material in order to teach chaos, complexity and holistic thinking to MBA students. Much of this thinking is described on my blog at www.transitionconsciousness.org.

Having had a look around this site, it seems that it is a wonderful resource full of great people, so thank you for your warm welcome.

  • Hi Ed, thanks for your greeting.  I have just started to look around the site and joined some groups, including your group Jung in the South.  (I am located in NC).  Thanks again for your welcome.

  • Greetings Ed et al...the words of welcome are most appreciated. I look forward to future converstions and exchanges as I find my way around.

  • Thank you for welcoming me to the Alliance.  I will explore a bit and post ASAP.

  • Hi Ed,

Thanks.  Haven't heard from many of them in a while, but my time there was most interesting.

Well, I would say Jung is very respected down here, but the unique flavor of consciousness here in Brasil does not necessarily lend itself to 'analysis' per say.  This, I actually like.

    Time will tell.....

And, you?  You are studying at Pacifica at the moment?

Your special interests, if any, with Jung's work?

    Best,

    MVL

  • Ed,
Thanks for the welcome! I'm excited to begin exploring all that's offered here.
I've not been formally trained in depth psychology as a clinician but I will say that it pervades
All my work and everything I do because it is the lense through which I view the world. My own journey,
    In very simple terms, has
Been one of making the unconscious conscious and so that very much informs my work with others.  I see myself
As a clinician primarily as a witness and feel it paramount that I be as fully present with clients as possible.
Does this make any sense? And does it answer your question?
  • Hi Ed,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and kind words about my site! I'm really looking forward to all the great things this site has to offer. I LOVE that you have Marianne Williams (she is the best)  at Occupy Wall St and Brene Brown (one of my favorite Ted speakers)  as your 2 videos. :) Looking forward to the book group!

  • Thanks Ed for the warm welcome. Look forward to exploring all the wonderful resources on the site.
