Ed Koffenberger left a comment on Jung in the South
"So...after a LONG time away, I resurface and wonder who is still out there, esp. in the Carolinas and Virginia? Frankly, I took too great a chunk of real estate in my exuberance with the beginning of the DPA. Now hoping there are some still…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Bonnie Bright's discussion How pervasive or recognizable is Depth Psychology?-- How (and how often) do you share?
"The actual phrase "depth psychology" about three times. The concepts and perceptions related to and introduced by depth psychology, most likely, 10+ times a week. Normally with people interested in dreams, synchronicity, religion, and philosophy.…"

Ed Koffenberger replied to Gerard Scott's discussion The collective unconscious
"Fun. As I understand it, the collect unconscious of humanity is drawn from the combined unconscious dynamics of humanity passed down from the earliest times. If experience is the key, then the alien experience would be alien (couldn't resist) to our…"

  • Ed, hi:

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, please forward my name and contact to other folks interested in Jung in the Nashville area. I would love to be in touch with others of similar Jungian interests.

    Best,
    James

  • Ed.

Thank you for the welcome.I am becoming familiar with the online way of communication and am excited to see its endless possibilities. I have read Kathleen Burt's books as well as many other astrologers and will join the seminar at the end of the month. I am not an astrologer but a lover of esoteric ways of knowing especially tarot, mythology, astrology, symbolism and Jungian psychology.

  • Thank you Ed.  It's wonderful to have found this community.  I do think that depth psychology is poised to become more mainstream.  Just today I was watching a marketing presentation and they used Joseph Campbell's "heroes" journey" as a motif for how to get more sales, of all things.

  • Many thanks for your warm welcome Ed.  I'm especially interested in a Jungian ecopsychology and so hope to learn -- and occasionally throw my two cents in!  I'm delighted that there is a rising interest in this endevour.

  • i appreciate your comment and welcome.  i hope to discover where i fit in with the alliance.  but it will take some browsing and time.

it would take me a rather long time to answer your question about how i used jungian psychology and psychoanalysis to heal my mental health diagnosis of manic-depressive psychosis, as western psychiatry labeled me.  it took twenty years of weekly meetings with my jungian therapist, and much self-care on my part to bring me to the wholeness and integrity i know today personally and professionally.  i am in the process of writing a manuscript on this journey in such a way that the average person could read about it, understand it, and hopefully learn to seek out depth psychology for healing the reader might need. the biggest challenge to the book has been putting jungian psychology and terminology into every day language the average reader could understand and relate to.

thanks for asking. if you have other questions about my journey or how i am today, please feel free to ask. i look forward to getting to know you and others who seek the avenue of life found on this web site.

  • Thank you, Ed. I appreciate your warm welcome and invitation.

  • No worries about the language, Ed.  Besides being in private practice, I teach, consult, and am currently writing a book with a colleague, Shannon Pernetti.  You can get a lot of info on our website, www.archetypalassociates.com.  We wrote a paper years ago on the Journey of Becoming An Archetypal Analyst I could send you.  Michael Conforti's book, Field, Form, and Fate is a primer and great way to begin.
We are looking at starting a webcast seminar to meet the requests for learning outside the Pacific Northwest.
    Hope that helps, Ed.
    My best to you,
    Diane
  • Hi Ed,

I actually studied under direct supervision with Michael Conforti for about 15 years to learn how to apply Archetypal Pattern Analysis in psychotherapy as well as consulting in the application in all vocations.  I teach Archetypal Pattern Analysis and consult with clinicians.  I would be happy to talk with you about its application in therapy if you want to have a phone call.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

  • Thanks for the warm welcome! I graduated from Pacifica in 2010, MA in Counseling. What are you writing your dissertation on? and for which program? Thanks again, Mary.

  • Hi Ed,

Thanks for the welcome! I'm from India (well born there but raised here) so that's where my name comes from.

I'm really glad I came across this group and definitely plan to join the book club. Need to make some time to explore this website... there is a lot to offer. Looking forward to this new community!

    Thanks again~
