Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
Narrative psychology combined with social systems on the "outside" and Jungian understanding of the interior "systems" make a nice pairing. Currently working on soul-related theoretical research establishing that soul is a misnomer. A proper understanding begins with seeing that souling as process is a better beginning to understanding the workings within the Psyche.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
Many, but most are Jungian based.

Thank you Ed! Martha Ann would be appropriate, you are correct. I happen to be named after my Mother and my Grandmother, so to keep things straight, I go by Ann. I am pleased to be a part of the Depth Psychology Alliance.
I am looking forward to seeing what if anything is included concerning Depth Psychology in the Master's program I will be taking. I really do not see how they could ignore Jung, but who knows. Our educational institutions have been know to ignore some pretty obvious facts and occurrences.
Ann
Thanks for the warm welcome
There are some wonderful plays right now. My daughter is in A View From the Bridge this month.
The theater not to miss is Court Theater in Hyde Park. There is God and then Charles Newel, the director at that theater. Anything is does usually transcends. Please let me know the dates and I will be happy to make some suggestions.
Hi Ed,
I do know some people at the institute (I used to know more) and... I see tons of theater in Chicago. This city cannot be surpassed for the variety and quality of theater. I have been going on average every two weeks. There is so much. Do you see much theater?
You asked about my doctorate in anthropology. I began my graduate studies focusing on archaeology, but in the late 1970s the theoretical emphasis was on trying to establish law-like statements regarding human behavior, an approach I did not find congenial. My training was in both archaeology and cultural anthropology, but my thesis and dissertation were responses to currents in anthropological theory and the epistemology of the social sciences. I did get to do ethnographic fieldwork among the Navajo, and I taught many classes on religion, ritual, and myth. After receiving a Ph.D., I was hired as an archaeologist, primarily working on cultural resource management on historic sites. My work was based in New England, then in New Mexico, and then New York City, although I worked on projects all over the US.
My study of art and depth psychology has just begun, so I doubt that I have that much to contribute at this point. I do, however, look forward to the discussions to follow.
I belong to the Women's Day Alliance at the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, TX. For our April program I put together excerpts from writings and talks of Joseph Campbell a Readers Theater presentation. The title is Metaphors, Not Historical Facts. I've included Campbell's interpretations of many religious symbols. Campbell says that there is truth in any religion if one interprets the symbols metaphorically. Are you familiar with the format of Readers Theater in which the cast speaks lines but in essence there is no acting?
Thanks much for the welcoming. I will respond more fully when I can.
I just realized I never responded to this. Thanks much for the warm welcome. I intend to participate more in the rich offerings of this site this year. I am in Chicago. Where are you?
Regarding the cancellation of my December book club for Lilith: The Last Temptation of Adam - I am available to discuss this topic (the Jungian novel) either through any media on this site, or via private e-mail/Skype. I'd posted a discussion document ahead of the book club event on my discussion page: "Personal Transformation through the Myth of Lilith: The Last Temptation of Adam"
